Throughout the car ride, Ella continued to tease Y/n relentlessly, relishing her embarrassment as Jungkook smiled at their playful banter. "Look! You wouldn't get the zade window for your lover," Ella burst into laughter. "He might use the gun on you for breaking your spell—"

Y/n couldn't help but cry out, her cheeks aflame with embarrassment. "Hey, it's Meadows, not my 'Zade'!"

"Okay, then what about Alex Volkov? He could teach you swimming," Ella suggested. "Oh, but he's got Ava Chen, right? It's a shame you can't have him. How about Kai Yung? Oh, he's with Isabella. And Dante! He has Vivian. What about 'It Ends With' guy—"

Y/n interrupted her with a sigh. "They're fictional guys, for God's sake!"

Ella continued to chuckle, not letting up on her teasing. "Well, it's all in good fun, Y/n."

As the ride continued, Y/n and Ella playfully described the appearance, voice, and expressions of the fictional characters from the dating app, adding humor and laughter to their journey.

Finally, Jungkook's voice interrupted their banter. "We're here."

_

As the three of them entered the cafe, Ella took it upon herself to decide on the menu for their outing. She walked over to the counter to place their order, leaving Y/n and Jungkook alone at a table.

Y/n was discreetly tapping on her phone, trying to appear occupied and avoiding eye contact with Jungkook. Her heart still raced from the earlier embarrassment, and she hoped that keeping herself busy with her phone would help her regain her composure. Jungkook, on the other hand, remained seated, looking quite relaxed as he observed Y/n. He couldn't help but notice her attempts to keep herself preoccupied and wondered about the source of her unease.

The atmosphere between them remained somewhat awkward, but as they awaited Ella's return, Jungkook decided to break the silence. "Is everything okay, Y/n?"

Y/n glanced up from her phone, her eyes meeting Jungkook's for a moment. She gave him a small, uneasy smile. "Yeah, everything's fine. Just catching up on messages."

Jungkook nodded and leaned back in his chair, still curious about the unease that lingered between them.

Jungkook sensed the tension in the air, and despite his efforts to keep the conversation light, he couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss with Y/n. He wanted to reach out, to offer her comfort or reassurance, but he found himself at a loss for words.

As they sat in silence, the bustling sounds of the cafe surrounded them, blending with the quiet tension that hung between them. Y/n's fingers tapped nervously on her phone screen, her eyes flickering with unreadable emotions.

Jungkook cleared his throat, breaking the heavy silence once more. "Y/n, I... I just wanted to say that I appreciate you coming along with us on this trip. It means a lot to Ella, and to me."

Y/n looked up, her gaze meeting Jungkook's. For a moment, she seemed caught off guard by his words, her expression softening slightly. "Of course, Jungkook. I'm happy to be here."

A flicker of relief crossed Jungkook's features, and he offered her a genuine smile. "Good. I'm glad to hear that."

The tension between them eased slightly, replaced by a more comfortable silence as they waited for Ella to return with their orders. Y/n felt a mixture of emotions swirling inside her - the warmth of Jungkook's gratitude mingled with the ache of unspoken desires.

As the minutes passed, Ella finally returned to the table, balancing a tray laden with drinks and snacks. She flashed them a bright smile, seemingly oblivious to the undercurrents that lingered between her friend and her brother.

"Sorry for the wait, guys," Ella said cheerfully as she set down the tray. "I had to convince the barista to make my latte just right."

Jungkook chuckled, his eyes crinkling with amusement. "Of course you did, Ella. You always have a way with words."

Ella beamed at her brother's compliment, seemingly content to bask in his praise. Y/n watched the interaction with a mixture of longing and resignation, knowing that no matter how much she wished for something more, it would never be within her grasp.

As they enjoyed their snacks and engaged in lighthearted banter, Y/n couldn't help but feel a sense of bittersweetness wash over her. These moments with Jungkook and Ella were precious, fleeting glimpses of happiness that she knew would eventually fade into memory.

But for now, she would savor them, cherishing the laughter and camaraderie that bound them together. And as the afternoon sun cast a warm glow over their table, Y/n allowed herself to believe, if only for a moment, that maybe - just maybe - happiness could be found in the simplest of moments, even if they didn't lead to the fairy tale ending she had always dreamed of.

Y/n sighed inwardly, her thoughts drifting to the countless times she had tried to convince herself that her feelings for Jungkook were nothing more than a passing fancy. She had buried them deep within her heart, locking them away in the recesses of her mind, hoping that with time, they would fade into oblivion.

But no matter how hard she tried to deny it, the truth remained stubbornly unchanged - she was hopelessly, irreversibly in love with Jungkook. It was a truth she had come to accept, even if it meant living with the ache of unrequited longing.

As she stole a glance at Jungkook, laughing at something Ella had said, Y/n felt a pang of sadness wash over her. He was everything she had ever wanted - kind, charming, and utterly captivating. But he was also forever out of reach, bound to her by the unbreakable ties of friendship and family.

Y/n shook her head, banishing the tumult of emotions that threatened to overwhelm her. She couldn't afford to dwell on what could never be; she had made her peace with that long ago. Instead, she would cherish the moments they shared, treasuring them like precious gems in the tapestry of her memories.

And so, with a heavy heart and a forced smile.
