After reading it, he looked at it again and muttered, "She loves him."
"Why does this bother me?" he asked himself in annoyance. Then he started flipping the pages, his eyes scanning the words penned down by Y/n, each line revealing a piece of her inner world.
"I saw him with other women today. It felt like my heart was being ripped apart, piece by piece. I thought it was just a crush, something fleeting and temporary. But now I realize it's more than that. It's a deep, consuming love that I can't shake off no matter how hard I try. Whenever I see him with someone else, it's like a dagger through my heart, a reminder that he'll never be mine. I try to hide my pain, to put on a brave face, but inside, I'm crumbling. "
Jungkook paused, feeling the weight of her words. He sighed heavily and continued reading.
"Tears blur my vision as I write these words, the ache in my chest unbearable. I never imagined that loving someone could hurt this much. Every time I see him, I have to force a smile and pretend like everything's fine, but inside, I'm breaking into a million pieces. Seeing him with those other women is like a cruel joke, knowing that I'll never be the one he chooses. And yet, despite the pain, I can't seem to let go. His presence consumes me, his absence haunts me. I don't know how to escape this vicious cycle of love and heartbreak. All I can do is hold onto the hope that one day, he'll see me the way I see him, that one day, my love will be enough to win him over. But until then, I'm trapped in this endless torment of unrequited love."
There were more pages left to read, more glimpses into her soul, but Jungkook decided against delving further. He closed the journal, feeling the weight of her emotions lingering in the air. Standing up, he carefully placed the journal inside a drawer in his closet, as if tucking away the echoes of her heartache.

Y/n wasn't herself in all those days. She was like a ghost, drifting through the motions of life without purpose or direction. Her thoughts were consumed by the memories of that fleeting kiss with Jungkook, replaying it over and over again in her mind. Everywhere she looked, she saw reminders of him — in the bustling streets of Seoul, in the quiet corners of her apartment, even in the depths of her dreams. It was as if he had woven himself into the fabric of her existence, leaving her unable to escape his presence.
Y/n was silent, utterly silent, unlike the other days when she used to smile at everybody or giggle. Those smiles had been forced in recent days as she tried to move on from the rejection.
"He rejected you, goddamn it," y/n mentally scolded herself.
"Miss Kim!" Y/n snapped out of her thoughts when she heard her name being called. She immediately stood up and saw Jungkook along with his secretary and his father. The person who called her was a colleague alerting her.
"So, where was I?" Jungkook's father continued. "Oh! And here we have Kim Y/n, she's like a daughter to me, so please help her out if she gets herself in trouble. She's Ella's lifeline," he joked at the end. Y/n replied with a forced smile, not bothering to look at Jungkook.
Y/n sat back at her seat, hoping for a moment of peace, but it didn't last long. The colleagues near her cubicle began to whisper, their conversation becoming increasingly obvious and humiliating.
"I heard she's always hanging around Ella, probably trying to get favors," one colleague sneered, his voice carrying across the office.
"Yeah, she's like Ella's little sidekick. Can't do anything without her," another chimed in, the laughter that followed like nails on a chalkboard to Y/n's ears.
They mocked how she wouldn't get promoted early like them, but how Ella would ensure she got special treatment. Y/n felt small, belittled by their words and the laughter that followed.
It was lunch hour, and Y/n found herself eating alone, unlike other days when many people would gather at her table. The news of her closeness with the Jeons had spread like wildfire throughout the office.
As she sat there, picking at her food, she couldn't help but feel the weight of the stares and whispers directed her way. It was as if she had become a spectacle, the subject of office gossip and speculation.
She tried to ignore the curious glances and hushed conversations happening around her, but it was impossible to block out the feeling of being scrutinized and judged. It seemed that her association with the Jeons had only served to separate her further, leaving her feeling more alone than ever before.

Ella crashed at Y/n's cozy apartment, as she often did. However, Y/n was not herself. She had decided not to share anything about work with Ella, but Ella seemed determined to drop a bomb on her. "Remember when you crashed at my place for drinks because you couldn't get jobs?" Ella started, her tone laced with mischief. "You said my brother is hot," she continued, shaking her head, while Y/n froze in her tracks.
"Oh, even you said you kind of like him, something," Ella added, her voice teasing.
"No! It was just a big drunken ramble," Y/n interjected hastily, feeling her cheeks flush with embarrassment.
Ella grinned mischievously, clearly enjoying the discomfort she was causing. "Well, well, well, looks like someone has a little crush on my brother," she teased, raising an eyebrow.
Y/n felt her heart sink as she realized that her secret feelings for Jungkook weren't as hidden as she had hoped. "No... no, I don't. It's, you know, I was drunk," Y/n started, stumbling over her words in an attempt to downplay the situation. "It's not like that, Ella. I was just... not myself."
"You fell in love with him," Ella whispered softly, her tone a mix of concern and understanding.
"It's not like that," Y/n protested weakly, her voice barely above a whisper.
