"Oh? How noble of you, Sect Leader Yáo, willing to soil your hands with the blood of the innocent, despite witnessing the truth firsthand," Jiāng Yànlí calmly remarked, though her smiling eyes hinted at a different sentiment.

Sect Leader Yáo's face drained of color as he realized the grave mistake he had made, his ego taking control of his words. The disapproving glances directed his way made it abundantly clear that he had messed up. Even the typically gentle Sect Leader Lán now shot him an icy stare, sending shivers down his spine. Adding to his distress, Hánguāng-jūn mirrored the same disapproving look. And Oh Gods! The sound of cracking Zǐdiàn in the background only heightened his anxiety. As if that wasn't enough, Sect Leader Niè, infamous for his disdain towards the Wēn surname, glared at him, seething with anger. Sect Leader Yáo knew he was in deep trouble. Wiping the sweat off his forehead, he swallowed his pride and nervousness, desperately attempting to salvage his tarnished image.

"N-No, Lady Jiāng, that's not what I meant. I apologize if it came across that way. I was simply..." Sect Leader Yáo's attempt to clarify himself was once again interrupted.

"You didn't mean it that way? Then, Sect Leader Yáo, what exactly did you intend to convey? Your words were unmistakably clear, leaving little room for misunderstanding. The conviction in your tone matched the certainty of your words, leaving no doubt about your intentions," Jiāng Yànlí stated firmly.

She continued, "I'm telling you, we should have just killed those Wēn dogs and I believe we should have dealt with those Wēn dogs more forcefully. Is this the message you intended to convey to Sect Leader Yáo, esteemed for his righteousness? I am genuinely interested in understanding the motives behind your chosen words. Are they influenced by Madam Wēn's cutting remarks that challenged your ego? Or perhaps they resonated with a truth you couldn't ignore?" Jiāng Yànlí concluded, wearing a sly smile on her graceful countenance.

Sect Leader Yáo quietly grumbled before abruptly sealing his lips, his face reddening with a mixture of anger and humiliation. Aware that speaking further would only worsen his already tarnished reputation, he wisely restrained himself, understanding the detrimental consequences it could bring.

Those who were inclined to support Sect Leader Yáo's statement promptly fell silent upon hearing Lady Jiāng's remark.

In the midst of it all, Lán Qǐrén found himself caught in a whirlwind of conflicting thoughts and emotions triggered by Madam Wēn's words. Now, as he listened to Jiāng Yànlí's words, his inner conflict intensified, leaving him even more uncertain. The weight of their words tugged at his heart, pulling him in different directions. Lán Qǐrén grappled with the overwhelming mix of emotions, unsure of which path to follow and longing for clarity amidst the chaos.
