Hey everyone!! I was super close to finishing this chapter last Tuesday, but then life decided to throw a curveball at me. 😅 Anyway, enough about my life's drama. Let's dive back into the story and enjoy! 📖😄

DISCLAIMER. I made a collage of Kat Graham from different ages that I got from google. I don't own TVD or the pics, only the idea to do this. This is only for display.

PRESENT AGES: Bonnie, Tyler & Matt - 8 ;   Elena & Caroline - 9 ; Vicki -10 ; Jeremy - 7

A day later, the entire town was buzzing with talk about the fire at the Gilbert's clinic. Me? I'm just going about my business, sitting at the park with my makeshift friends, ignoring Elena's annoying presence. I'm pretending like I couldn't care less about it. I mean, come on, I'm just an 8-year-old. No need for me to get all worked up about grown-up stuff like that.

(Just imagine this park full of kids running and playing around. The gang, btw, are just by that shaded area under the tree sitting and playing.)

Another playdate in the park on a weekend, with the parents busy with their work. They're currently helping the Gilberts, either offering support or just indulging in gossip, while the kids are immersed in their imaginative games. I'm pretending to be the queen, sitting with my friends, Caroline and Vicki, who are acting as princesses while the boys play as knights. Elena is there, attempting to take charge and suggesting a different game, but I ignore her. The others can't tolerate her bossy demands and whining either, so they ignore her as well. They're content with the game we're playing. Hmm... I think Elena got tired of being ignored, so she decided to join the other kids in the park. After all, this town isn't short on kids.

Now, back to a much more important matter – considering I'm an adult trapped in a kid's body and all – I needed to keep an eye on what the cops had found out. Thanks to Caroline, our budding gossip collector and informant, the local gossip came pouring in. Her mom, the sheriff, believed it was a botched drug heist. It seemed the culprits found themselves in a fiery predicament during the act. One of their gadgets went haywire, and, boom! Up in flames, they went.

Can you believe the police in our town? What a solid cover-up job they did! Yeah, I'm totally being sarcastic here. But hey, it worked out for me. As far as the cops are concerned, the case is closed. Of course, they might've noticed the missing blood bags and the drained bodies, so they might have an inkling about some vampire activity. The council might be on their toes, but they're not taking action, considering there haven't been any 'animal attacks.' They might just chalk it up to a vampire passing through, having a lucky run-in with those two robbers while stocking up on some blood bags.

Anyway, I'm done speculating about what they're thinking, though. Let's move on from this incident. After all, it'll be old news in a few days. Mission success, and on to the next one!
