Jacaerys took a deep breath of the salty sea air. The ship they were riding is nearing the port to King's Landing. There he would meet again his uncles and aunts and their new cousins. His mother and stepfather were called by his grandsire to reunite as a family.

The young prince hopes that the reunion will go smoothly this time. The last time they reunited with his other side of the family his second uncle lost an eye. Jacaerys will never forget the cold eyes the queen gazed upon him. Even though she insisted it was an accident and that all was forgiven, his brother's dragon Arrax's missing eye would tell much.

Mayhaps its was for the best, he thinks. He could be considered as a horrible brother for feeling relieved at what happened to his brother's dragon,but Jacaerys thinks it's better than the queen asking for Lucerys' eye as payment for her son. Or worse having the queen's dragon Lazarus(he thinks Cannibal is still more fitting for a name for the now tamed dragon) eating Arrax or Lucerys like a whole pig for a snack.

The queen had been lenient with them, he now understood. Had she been brutal like how she avenged her fallen brother during the War of Stepstones, he and his brother would not have lived. The silver lining is that his grandsire is still alive and won't stand for it to happen,as the same for mother. At the end of the day his mother is still the acknowledged heir.Though Jacaerys can't deny expecting the feeling of dejection he would feel with the cold encounter with the queen and his uncles and aunts. Nowhere now the queen who used to give him and his brothers cookies or the doting stepgrandmother she once been, letting the brothers play together with their uncles and aunts. Still remembering the pranks he and his uncles(sometimes including his aunts) always done in the Red Keep and in the Dragonstone(when they would usually visit with their dragons. The visits from his uncles and aunts ceased after the incident which brought a pang in Jacaerys's heart.) that mostly terrorized the servants.Unlike others, instead of scolding and insisting the proper behavior of a prince should be, the queen would pat each of their heads and say nothing, her smile already enough.

When the ship landed on the docks, he goes to look for Lucerys. He still gets seasick every time they board a ship. They rode a carriage to Red Keep provided already.

The ride was smooth. Its was expected after all. The royal capital is already living up to its name. No longer the smell of manure and dirt. The roads paved and the travel is smooth. Banners with the sigil of House Targaryen hang in every post. All thanks to the queen and her children.

All eleven uncles and aunts. Now Jacaerys wonders why her mother is still the heir. The Hand must have been grinding his teeth in frustration. His grandsire had more than enough heirs. Six sons and five daughters born from his second wife. All are the greatest princes and princesses the realm has ever known. Further glorifying the Targaryen name. Not only they were all dragon riders, they were also born of talents that many believed they were god's touched themselves. They've made many feats and progresses that made the realm much more advanced. His aunts continued the previous queen Alysanne's women courts and his uncles served the realm better than previous king Jaehaerys have been.

When they arrived at the Red Keep, only the servants greeted them,which Jacaerys noticed peeved his mother greatly, only until the head maid(as many told them she was called and she had claimed) by the queen pulled out a rolled up parchment and said.
