TaliaTalia was combing her hair when a knock came to her door. She thought it was Lysa who came to report her about something quite important.
"Come in."
The door didn't open. Talia became confused. She put her brush down.Perhaps Lysa didn't hear her.
"Lysa, come in."
The door opened. It wasn't Lysa who entered her room. It was a tall bulk of a man. Dressed in a tight kevlar suit with a black cape. A man she knows too well.
"Beloved."
The surroundings morphed that of a rooftop. A rooftop in the middle of Gotham. Talia looked around, heart pounding hard in her chest. She doesn't understand what's going on.
"How—"
"You never changed, Talia. I thought I could trust you. To take another path not carved by Ra's cruelty. Yet I should have known. Ra's Al Ghul was not the reason who you are right now. You have been always like this. Cruel and apathetic."
Talia was enraged. How dare he spout something like that? Words that cut through her and continue to fester.
She scoffed." I don't want to hear those words from a hypocrite like you Bruce. You always say you held life as sacred. Yet you indirectly kill your people who you continue sought to protect. Picking up and teaching children to be not like you yet here you are sending them to fight in costume and tights. At least unlike you I have never deceived anyone and I'm honest with my motives, beloved." The endearment was spat with bitterness. She can't believe she once loved and trusted this man with their son. Never again would she repeat her mistakes.
Batman went towards her. His footsteps thundering. It's his usual tactic to intimidate his criminals. Yet it has no effect on her. She had fought many men larger than Bruce all her life. She would not hesitate to fight him. His hand wrapped around Talia's neck.
"Your son killed my son!" He snarled.
She pointed a knife she didn't know was there at Bruce's neck.
"Damian was your son!"
"I don't have a son who is a murderer like you."
Oh how that hurt. How could Bruce insult and hate her exceptional Damian. Damian was the perfect heir and son Bruce could ever hope for. And he was his blood. How could he held that damned circus bred above his biological son?!
At the same time Bruce cut her heart with those words, she also felt relief. Remembering her daughter Athanasia. Her only blood daughter. She felt relief that at least there's one child she have that wasn't used as a child soldier to fight his battle of crime and discarded the moment they broke his rules. Not that she was going to tell him. One child of hers was already posoined enough for his beliefs.
His hand tighten around her neck. Talia let out a chuckle. Yet if his previous words cut through her, his next felt like it killed inside of her.
"Someone like you don't deserved to be loved."
The next thing she knew she was falling. The moment Bruce let go of her she was falling in darkness. She was screaming both in pain and rage. In longing for her children and the forgotten love she craved from Bruce Wayne.
