Day: December 2, 2012
"I need Edward, Robert, Emma, and Jason in my office! NOW!" Kelly called, via the speakers. Jason was laying his head on his hand on his desk and hesitantly stood up and almost fell right back in to his chair if Mark hadn't caught him on his way back to his desk after dealing with the snakes in the back of the HQ. "Let's get this over with. I have paperwork to do afterwards." Edward said. "Don't we all?" Robert asked, almost causing Jason to jump. Edward ignored him and practically dragged Jason to Kelly's office.
Jason had not gotten a lot of sleep the past couple of weeks. Or rather, the past couple months. Ever since he first had that vision of that boy, he hadn't been sleeping properly unless the boy appeared in his dream (which was hardly ever).
Something was starting to tell him that he would be seeing that boy again real soon. He just didn't know whether it was in his dreams or in real life. But somehow, he knew that boy would be important in the future.
He almost passed out just walking into Kelly's office. "I knew this would happen one day or another." Kelly said once the four agents had sat down in the chairs in front of Kelly's desk.
"You knew what would happen?" Robert asked. Kelly slammed her hands on her desk, causing Jason to jump. "There's Aliens invading the city." She replied darkly.
"Aliens?!" Jason and Emma said at the same time. They awkwardly glanced at each other before turning their attention back to Kelly. "That's what I was talking to Edward and Jason about a few months ago." Kelly explained.
"I need the four best agents in the agency to deal with this." She said. "Wait, so we're the four best agents in the agency?" Jason asked. He had never been told he was one of the best at something before. Usually he was told he was one of the worst. "Yes." Kelly said as if it was obvious. "I wouldn't have sent the four of you on this mission if that wasn't true."
"Exactly." Edward said, turning to glare at Jason. Jason happily returned it, which caused Robert to clear his throat to divert their attention back to Kelly, who had sat back down in her chair.
"Edward, Robert, you two are on mentor duty." Kelly said. "Jason and Emma, I would recommend you two only act if Edward or Robert asks you to do something."
"Why?" Emma asked. "This is something you two still need to learn. Once you have learned after this mission, you can be more active if there's another invasion." Kelly explained.
Jason inwardly groaned. He hated only being there for backup and an extra hand if needed. Robert and Edward would have the whole mission done by themselves and him and Emma wouldn't have even needed to do anything.
However, he sat there without saying anything and did as told nonetheless. He didn't want to risk upsetting Kelly and Edward, who were probably the two scariest people in the entire agency in his opinion. Him and the other agents basically lived in fear of the two of them.
Once they got in the car, Jason sat squished in between Robert and Emma while Edward sat in the front with the driver, since there were four of them instead of two or three.
It didn't take long for Emma to shift so that Jason could sleep peacefully on her shoulder. "I'm not tired Emma." Jason protested.
Emma sighed and forcefully laid Jason's head on her shoulder. It wasn't long before Emma was proven right and Jason fell asleep on her shoulder, hoping that her or Robert would wake him up once they got to the sight of the Alien Attack.
It was that boy again.
This time, they were in a different spot. Usually they were surrounded by trees with a campfire nearby or in between them. This time, they were in a cave with the fire in the corner.
