Day: February 28, 2013
Jason sat at his desk about three weeks later, with Sam sitting across from him, when suddenly, everything went dark.
When he opened his eyes a few minutes later, he found himself inside an abandoned warehouse. "Where are we?" He heard Sam ask, softly. "It looks like an abandoned warehouse of some sort." Jason replied, just as softly.
"Well, you're just as smart as Ms. Smith tells me." A new voice commented. "Who's there!?" Jason asked, defensively. "Sam, don't you remember my voice?" The voice asked, ignoring Jason's question. Sam hesitated for a minute before responding, "I do. I know your voice very well." "As you should." The boy said, finally coming out of the shadows.
It was Oliver...
"Why did you bring us here?" Jason asked, cutting Sam and Oliver's reunion short. "I can't disappoint Ms. Smith you know Jason." Oliver answered, getting right up in Jason's face.
Jason attempted to grab his gun, but quickly realized that Oliver had tied his hands behind him. "Very clever Oliver." Jason commented, sarcastically. "I like to take precautions when it comes to dealing with you meddlesome agents." Oliver replied with a sneer.
"Why are you doing this to us?" Sam asked with a hurt expression. "The only reason you're here, Sam, is because you're his partner and I had to take you in order for you to not tell on me." Oliver responded, revealing nothing. "That doesn't help." Sam answered. "That's kind of the point." Oliver replied. "I'm not stupid." "Obviously if you were smart enough to tie our hands together so we can't attack." Jason commented.
"What do you want with me anyway?" "It's nothing personal." Oliver responded. "I simply want your power." "What power?" Jason asked, genuinely clueless as to what Oliver was talking about. "You know, the powers that you developed after graduating." He explained. "I never got any powers after graduating." Jason replied. Than, Oliver slammed his hands on the arms of Jason's chair, causing Jason to unwillingly flinch. "That's the point!" Oliver yelled, causing Jason to pull back as much as the chair allowed him to.
"You will develop powers Jason. But Ms. Smith told me to remove them before they were fully developed." "You do realize that it's a stupid idea to reveal your plan to us, right?" Sam asked. "I simply told you my goal, but my plan remains secret." Oliver answered.
Jason and Sam went silent and glanced at each other, trying to figure out what to do to get themselves out of their sticky situation when Oliver spoke up, his words making Jason wonder if he could reads minds. "There's nothing you can do this time Jason." He said, his words making a cold, uneasy chill run down Jason's spine. "Too bad you can't run to Edward to get you out."
This triggered Jason's hot-headedness. "I don't need Edward to get me out of this!" He yelled. Then, he seemed to calm down, though anger was still plain as day on his face. "You may be smart, but I'm smarter."
Oliver's face expressed genuine surprise as Jason held up the key-chain with his right hand and the handcuffs in his left. "How did you-?" Oliver asked before Jason cut him off. "While you were doing your whole 'telling us whats gonna happen and how we can't stop you' thing, I managed to get the keys off your pant-leg while you were walking behind me and kept asking questions and acting clueless to keep suspicions low so I could escape." Jason explained, tossing the keys up and down in his hand.
"You really shouldn't mess with me, you know." "And why is that?" Oliver asked, raising an eyebrow. Jason's green eyes narrowed. "Because you'll only get yourself shot."
Then, he turned to Sam. "NOW!" Sam quickly slipped off the handcuffs, grabbed his gun, and aimed it at Oliver's head with a focused but pained expression.
Jason turned to smirk at Oliver, which was very uncharacteristic of him, but seeing as how he currently felt very smug, he didn't pay any mind to it. "Who's in the sticky situation now?" He asked, smug expression never faltering. Oliver pulled out a gun from behind him, wiping the smirk off Jason's face and replacing it with absolute horror. "Still you, King."
Jason's eyes were wide, but before he could comprehend what was happening, Oliver was suddenly on the floor, blood pooling out from underneath him. Jason turned to Sam, who had a determined and protective expression on his face, finger pushing the trigger down.
"You shot your own brother?" Jason asked in surprise. Sam shrugged as if it was no big deal. "I had to." He replied, simply. "Otherwise that dead body would've been yours."
"I..." Jason started. He didn't know how to handle the fact that Sam could've very easily ended his life by choosing to not pull the trigger, but chose to keep his partner alive instead of his own brother. "Th-Thank you, I guess." He awkwardly rubbed the back of neck behind his hair.
"Agents!" Kelly shouted, pulling Jason and Sam into a hug like a mother who found her lost children. Jason broke away, as he was not a cuddly person. "We're fine before you ask." He spat, straightening his tie. "That's good."
Jason and Sam didn't notice the glowing aqua blue eyes watch them from the shadows as Oliver's body was taken by the morgue agents while they were talking with Kelly.
