Day: August 18, 2012
Just over a week later, Jason King and his partner -and mentor Edward Williamson were doing paperwork on their last mission when Thomas O'Sullivan came over. "Let me guess, Ms. Kelly wants us?" Edward asked, not looking up from his paperwork. "You got that right." Thomas replied. "Is this gonna be an everyday thing Tom?" A new voice asked.
Jason looked up and saw Agent James Miller, Thomas's partner and former mentor. James had dark brown hair not much longer than Thomas's, bright blue eyes, light skin, and was tall (he's 5 foot 8) and skinny with not very much muscle.
"I don't know. Probably. Oh and she wants you to James. I'll probably hang with Robert and Emma or Mark while you're gone." Thomas replied, wandering off. Thomas brushed his hand against James's and James had a slight hypnotized expression for a few seconds.
"Let's go you two." Edward said, sliding his paperwork into the drawer in front of him. "Is he always this bossy?" James whispered to Jason. "Yep." Jason whispered back. "Dude, I feel so bad for you." James said in a normal voice. "It's fine. It's not that bad when he's in a good mood." Jason replied, normally, before whispering, "Which is usually every once in a blue moon."
"Are you two coming or what?!" Edward asked, clearly annoyed. "Yes. Sorry." Jason replied, quickly. He didn't want to know what would happen if Edward got furious at him just because he was chatting with another agent. Yes, they were just standing there, but sometimes you do what you gotta do to make sure nobody got mad for something that's true.
Kelly was standing in front of her desk instead of sitting at it, which already told Jason that this mission was something serious. "I need you three to solve the case of a boy named Liam Lobo. He's recently been bitten by a werewolf." Kelly explained. "Jason, has Edward or some other agent taught you how to deal with a werewolf bite?" Jason racked his brain for a minute before replying, "Not that I remember."
Kelly sighed and instructed James to teach Jason how to deal with werewolves when they got to Liam's house.
During the car ride, Jason sat in his usual spot with James in the middle. His thoughts, however, were drifting from reality and he soon fell asleep again, hoping that James would wake him up when they got to Liam's house.
He was inside those coils again.
"There we go." The boy said. "All nice and warm, aren't you?" "Mmmhmm..." Jason replied, hardly making any sound. He was so tired. "Sleep now. Sleep and dream of pretty colors and soft coils..." The boy whispered.
As Jason closed his eyes, the pretty colors took over everything he saw and he didn't notice the coils fully surrounding him, head to toe. Nothing was left dangling outside of them. He was completely bound in coil.
He loved being all helplessly coiled up. He never wanted to leave his current state. He had been begging for the boy to come back and coil him up again for the past week.
He felt whole again. He was finally home. He didn't know what a home was, but he was sure this was it. His body had been yearning for the coils to be around it again.
However, it didn't take long for James's voice to power through his happiness. "Jason, it's time to wake up. We're here. I wouldn't make Edward mad." He had totally forgotten about Edward's existence. "I guess you should probably wake up. It sounds like you shouldn't keep them waiting. I'll see you tonight Jason. I promise." The boy said before Jason woke up.
He was back inside the car and the man up front had his hand behind his seat, waiting for Edward to pay him. Edward handed him the hundred fifty and the three of them got out of the car, with Jason's mind focusing on the boy and how comfortable he had been until James woke him up.
"I know you probably didn't want me to wake you up, but I didn't want Edward getting upset." James explained. "You looked like you were pretty happy staying where you were." Jason felt his face go red with embarrassment.
He needed those coils again. He needed to be completely wrapped up by them. He loved how helpless they made him. Normally, he hated being helpless, but this was different. This was much better.
"We were closer to Liam's house than I thought." Edward said, pulling Jason out of his thoughts. "It's just around the block from here." They were only two miles away from the agency. Did Liam really live that close?
Edward knocked on the door and a short boy with flat light brown hair, dark brown eyes that looked as if he hadn't slept in ages, light skin that didn't look very cared for, and had a small and skinny body answered the door.
"Are you Liam?" Edward asked. "Y-Yes. That's me." The boy squeaked. "How old are you?" James asked. "I-I turn th-thirteen in January." Liam replied. How was this boy twelve years old? Liam sounded no older than five.
"Can we come in?" James asked, attempting to get on Liam's good side. He could tell that Liam was scared and wanted to make sure they felt like a safe place to him. "I-I guess so since that's why your here." Liam replied, hiding behind the front door.
The three agents walked in, with Edward showing no signs of safety. It was clear that Liam trusted Jason more so than James or Edward, even though Liam wasn't much younger than Edward. "Let's start with the basics." James said, trying to make sure Liam felt as safe as possible. "Did you see what he looked like?" "His teeth were long and sharp and his hair was dirty blonde." Liam replied. So that's why Liam didn't trust Edward. Edward's teeth had always been unnaturally sharp and his hair was dirty blonde.
"I couldn't see anything else with his appearance." Liam replied. Edward inspected the bite and easily traced it to who might've bitten him. "This is the work of Oliver Dickenson." He said, bluntly. "But Oliver is really nice! He wouldn't bite me! He's my friend!" Liam said. "Your description of him and your bite are the only things we can go off of right now. If we can find proof that says otherwise, we'll take it into consideration, okay?" Jason said, attempting to make sure Liam didn't lose his trust in the agents. "Okay." Liam replied.
It was also possible that Oliver commanded a werewolf to bite Liam and was therefore not responsible for the bite, but charges would still be held against him. Jason had to keep his promise to Liam. Keeping the trust of the citizens was important or else the agency wouldn't get calls.
"James you stay with Liam and make sure another werewolf doesn't come after him. Jason and I will search the neighborhood for Oliver." Edward said, pulling Jason up from the couch which Liam had pinned him into. "Alright. I'll try. Werewolves are really hard to fight off though." James replied.
Edward and Jason went and searched the neighborhood, but couldn't find any other leads. "We should get James and head back. Ms. Kelly needs to know what Liam told us." Edward said. "Why can't we just look around again? Maybe we missed something." Jason said. He was determined to make sure Liam didn't have to live with Oliver's betrayal to their very obvious friendship.
"We've already scouted the area five times. There isn't anything else here." Edward said, his eyes turning to a glowing blood red. Before Jason knew it, he was back at the agency.
"You couldn't find anything against Oliver?" Liam asked. "I'm afraid not. But that doesn't mean he did it. We'll try our best to find evidence that proves Oliver innocent." James replied. But it didn't seem like there was anything else to uncover. Especially now that Jason was acting so weird. He was acting like Mark and some of the other agents did when he was possessed or mind controlled. It made James worried, especially since his irises and pupils were gone.
That was a good indicator of Edward using possession or mind control.
A/N: That chapter took longer than I expected to write (multiple days), but it's finally out! Let's hope Jason and Edward can keep their promise to Liam, but I have my doubts seeing as how I have the plotline for up to the second chapter of the third book written out. But I guess you'll have to keep reading to find out if they do!
Edit: I am currently working another story and have writer's block for this one. Updates might be a little slower than usual for a while. I'll try and update as soon as I can, but can't promise that they will be often at least for now.
