Alandra woke with a pounding on her door. She blinked pressing her eyes shut, and opening then with a sigh.

She flipped the covers off her frame and made her way to the door. A yawn escaped her mouth as she pulled the door open.

Marscha stood in the opening.

"Good Morning Alandra."

"G'Morning...."She rubbed her eyes and tried to wake herself more.

Marscha grinned pearly fangs on perfect display.

"I take it you didn't sleep well?"

"I slept fine. Just tired." She ruffled her hair. " What did you need?"

Marscha fixed her frock she wore. " Lord Vlad wishes to take you into to town today."

Alandra widened her eyes, " Into town, wh, why?"

"I do not know, but he wished to inform you that any chance of escape would be futile and only end badly for you. His words not mine, my lady."

A heavy weight settled in the pit of her stomach.

" Right of course."

Alandra walked into her room, she heard the vampire follow.

"Don't look so distraught my lady. At least you get to leave the palace."

Alandra turned to face Marscha.

"Do you, are you not allowed to leave the castle?"

The blond shook her head, " No, my lady."

She looked at the vampire, her dark brows furrowed. " Why do you keep calling me "My lady." You don't normally do that Marscha. What happened?"

The woman looked down.

"Nothing, m- Alandra."

Alandra lifted the woman's head. "That's a lie and we both know it."

The vampires eyes moved nervously, she removed her hand from her chin. The blond wrung her hands.

" Did Dracula do anything to you?"

Silence.

Fury burned behind her eyes.

"I'll kill the bastard. What did he do?"

Marscha looked at the ground, shaking her head." Nothing."

Alandra tightened her fists.

" What did he do to you?!" She couldn't believe the closet thing she had to a friend in this hell hole might have been hurt.

Marscha looked up violently shaking her head. " He did nothing to me! It was," she swallowed.

"Who?"

"Louis."

Alandra narrowed her eyes. " Louis hurt you?"

"No, no. Dracula hurt Louis. A warning. To all of us."

Alandra took in a sharp breath.

" Excuse me Marscha. I have something I have to take care of."

She walked away shutting the door to Marscha's protests.

---

Her face was set in a permanent scowl. Fire burned in the pit of her stomach. Alandra walked with a brisk pace to the dinning hall. Dracula was there every morning.

She strode into the large room.

There he sat, at the end of the table drinking from his glass.

" You. I ought to kill you right now." Venom dripped from each word, her finger pointed at him

Vlad arched a brow, setting his glass down on to the table.

" What brought this on?"

His nonchalant tone simply boiled her temper over.

" You!" She shouted.

"Me?" He gestured to himself.

" Yes you." She began making her way around the table.

He stood.

" Is this about that worthless creature you have-"
Smack.

A red print was forming on his face. She saw the anger in his eyes.

" In fact it is." She began with a hiss. " That worthless creature is my friend. If you lay a hand on him again. I will kill you. "

" You will, how?" He seethed.

She poked her finger on his chest. " I will drive a stake, straight through your nonexistent heart." She paused. " I will keep driving it throgh until it reaches the other side. I will watch what ever life you have fade from your eyes. "

Alandra removed her finger.

"You have no idea what I am capable of. Vampire."
