12. Suspicion and Strategy

...In Universe 7....

Goku and Vegeta had just wrapped up the Granolah business and returned home a week ago when they received a sudden visit from Beerus and Whis.

Currently, all Z fighters were present in the room, including Goten and Trunks.

"Everyone, Universe 6's God of Destruction was replaced." Whis said.

"What!?! Champa was replaced?" Goku shot up despite not knowing what it actually meant. 

"The new God of Destruction resembles a human in physical appearance, so we came here to investigate." The angel further clarified. "Moreover, Lord Beerus felt something was off with him."

"What did you feel, Lord Beerus?" Vegeta narrowed his eyes. As far as he knew, a God of Destruction's tenure spanned several of his lifespans. So witnessing a change in the roster was rarer than Goku attaining Super Saiyan.

"I think he has the ability to grow during battle, like a Saiyan." Beerus said, shocking everyone.

"He's a Saiyan!?!" 

"No, of that we aren't sure. I consider the possibilities low, since Universe 6's Saiyans are much weaker than ours. But the similarities are still there." Whis countered.

Master Roshi asked, "But how did you find this out, Lord Beerus?"

"As we were arriving, Lord Beerus sensed a significant change in his power level. I later confirmed it. He was much stronger than the last time we saw him." 

"Goku! Get ready to smash his brains out in case he decides to visit Universe 7!" Beerus ordered.

"Yes! Lord Beerus!" Goku stood like a soldier as he acknowledged the command.

"Wait a minute...why is there a need to fight him? And if he's a God of Destruction then shouldn't Lord Beerus take care of him?"

"I can't fight another God, it's forbidden. But I have a feeling that his intentions with us aren't all that nice." The purple head explained. 

Bulma walked in with a tray full of food and Beerus began munching, having completely forgotten about the shock he just gave the room.

"W-WHAT!?! A new God of Destruction and we might have to fight him!?!" Bulma screamed as she was notified of the threat. The last time they had to face a God...although it ended peacefully, it could've gone wrong at any point. 

After all, if they wanted, they could just destroy their planet from a distance. 

"Even if he visits, I doubt he'd use Destruction in a Universe that's not his, so you might not have to worry too much." Whis interjected into their conversation.

"That's a relief but..." Bulma sighed deeply and leaned on Vegeta for support.

"I feel like things are going to change..." Gohan murmured softly but Krillin picked it up.

"Hmm? What do mean, Gohan?" 

"Ah, I've just had a feeling lately. Like the air isn't the same, you know. I don't know if the two are related, but this is just my hunch so no need worry." He quickly took his words back.

"Ohhhhhhh! I'm getting fired up! Vegeta, let's go train at Lord Beerus' place!" Goku declared. 

"Do you think my house is your training ground?" Beerus said in between bites, but he was ignored. 

"Hmph, I agree that we should focus on training, Kakarot. We still have to repay the humiliation we received at the hands of that nerd." Vegeta sneered, remembering the pain he felt while fighting Granolah.
