Quiet Moments: Amidst the chaos of their demanding jobs, Grissom and the reader find a quiet moment together. What do they talk about, and how do they unwind?

"Hey Cath, do you know where Greg is?, I need him to run up some of the evidence." Cath shrugs her shoulders boggled "Not sure, last time I heard he was backlogged in the laboratory." Hot on her heels she turned around and mouthed "sorry" I give her a reassuring look letting her know it's okie. Annoyed, I rub the back of my neck, growing increasingly stressed by the paradox that when I actively seek someone, they're elusive, yet when I have no need for their presence, they conveniently appear right in front of me. I sighed, mumbling, "Man, I cannot catch a break." Spotting Nick, I called out, "Nick, NICKKKKKK," then speed walked to him. "Yes, Y/n, how can I help?" He asked. I raised my eyebrow in annoyance, "Have you seen Greg? He's not in the lab, and I need him to run some tests." Nick shook his head slowly, "Nope, haven't seen him. Last time I heard, he was backlogged." Frustrated, I muttered, "For fuck sake, he's like your puppy how do you not know where he is." I walked away, shouting, "Thanks, Nick," before I ended up smacking someone. I made my way to my office, I shut the door, took a seat, and threw the papers on my desk angrily. Leaning my head slowly into my hands, I clung to any hope that this day would get better sighing heavily. Being full of a cold wasn't helping, my chest was feeling very heavy from the high amount of coughing I was doing. Not being able to run these tests in the lab, especially since Greg is normally the one who's there for anything, it hurt. I heard a soft knock on the door, rubbing my eyes, softly wiping away the tears, not realizing that I was crying. "Come in," I said, hoping it was Greg.

"Hey, I heard you needed some tests running thought I might be able to lend a hand." I smile softly at him "Thank you, I would be greatly appreciative of that." Grissom nods his head smiling softly back at you, Grissom picks up two pieces of your review of your labs, the tests that you ran before when Greg was with you. As he's reading through them he stops all of a sudden and looks back at you, "What's the matter?" Quietly Grissom whispers "There's tear drops on your work." I give him a confused look , realisation hits me "Oh, yeah, sorry about that." I hang my head low "Crying on the job what a great impression"

Leaning slightly on the worn desk Grissom speaks to me in a soft yet gentle tone "Darling, it's alright....just talk to me what's going on." Almost begging in a way for me to talk and not bottle everything. The weight of unspoken troubles lingered in the air, a quiet moment shared of silence, yet his comforting presence created a space for vulnerability and shared understanding. I rested my head in my hands sighing softly out of frustration. Grissom abruptly rose from the desk and gracefully approached me, deftly pulling the chair aside lightly lifting me up as he enveloped me in a tender and comforting hug. The unexpected warmth of his embrace conveyed both reassurance and a sense of unspoken connection. Grissom softened his tone whispering almost "It's alright Luv if you don't want to talk about it, this room will always be here for you if you ever need a break, most importantly my embrace will always be here for you to take all your worries and cares away for you." Now grinning massively I get back to work and Grissom goes to run some more labs for me.

*Hello, I deeply apologise for the wait, I've been dealing with a few things, but I finally got this one finished I hope you enjoy. I know it's not long I was stuck at what to write.* :)
