the following few days were difficult, to say the least. thr geoup had divided into two houses, and since gabriel stayed in the church, lorelei was stuck with the grimes.

people had started their jobs, and today was the day that carl and lorelei were supposed to start school. the little kids went every other day, and the older kids filled in the empty days. starting school meant having to see ron.

although there were no reprocutions on the girl, she was the one that had to live with what he had done. it admittedly could have gone so much worse, but lorelei was still young. she didn't deserve that.

ever since the rooms were divided up, lorelei had not left hers unless she absolutely needed to. like, for the bathroom or something. michonne, rick, carl, even daryl and the rhees all took turns checking on her, but it was carl who stayed by her side mostly.

it was early morning, from waht she could gather, so when a knock sounded on her door, she was quick to be sat up, greasy hair falling all around her face. "come in." she called.

"hey," glenn opened the door, and peeked his head in. his face held a sweet smile as he shut the door behind him. he made his way the the bed, and took a seat beside lorelei.

"hey," she greeted, tired eyes looking from her feet to him. "what's up?" she asked.

"maggie and i talked to deanna.." he started, sucking in a breath. "she said that everyone has a job.. and your job is going to school." he kept his voice low, trying not to let the girl panic. "she's promised that he won't bother you. he's not even supposed to talk to you. if he does, you tell one of us, and we'll take care of it." glenn's hand reached over to rest on her thigh is a reassuring manner. the small gesture made lorelei's eyes stay on him.

"and what if he does?" she asks. "what if he won't leave me alone?" the fear that rose from her stomsch started to make her shake.

"you tell someone. carl will be there- the teacher. you'll be protected." he gave her leg a small squeeze. "i promise."

lorelei stayed silent for a moment, before nodding. "okay." she frced a tight lipped smile onto her face, and glenn finally stood.

"why don't you take a shower? maggie's working on breakfast right now. it should be done when you are." he paused, opening up the door. "you should eat."

after her shower, lorelei got herself ready and headed downstairs. the bruises on her skin had started to fade into a yellow-green color. she wore a pair of jeans, her regular boots, a white long sleeved shirt, and a green knit cardigan. she felt priceless to be able to wear clean, nice clothes again. instead of putting her hair up like normal, she ran a brush throigh her wet locks, and kept the hair tie on her wrist.

"good morning," maggie greeted as lorelei took a seat. the older woman placed a plate of food in front of her.

"morning," she muttered, catching sight of carl as he took a seat across from her. he looked excited, but pleased that lorelei would be going to school.

"hi," he greeted, digging into the food maggie had given him.

"hi." she replied, pushing the food around with her fork before taking a little bite. lorelei didn't feel very hungry.

in all honesty, she felt sort of empty. her dad hadn't spoken to her for days. did he blame her? she allowed her mind to wonder, before she looked to glenn, who watched maggie with nothing but love in his eyes.

"glenn?" she called, makimg him jump from his daze and give her a bright smile. "have you talked to my dad?" she asked.

"uhm, no.." he muttered, face falling into a frown. just as maggie finished setting the table, michonne and rick bound down the stairs, and took their seats. glenn glanced from lorelei to the pair, "hey- lorelei wants to know if anyone's talked to gabriel." he hummed, leaning against the counter.
