I thought it would be just Akira, Sakura, and me on our vacation in Los Angeles, but to my surprise, Gundham made an unexpected appearance too. After everything that had happened, we barely spoke or even made eye contact with each other. The nine-hour flight felt like an eternity.

I found myself seated between Akira and Gundham, which made the situation incredibly awkward. When I finally landed at LAX at 10 AM, I tried my best to put on a happy face for my mom and dad. The moment I spotted them, a genuine smile broke out on my face. Despite being lawyers, they could be the silliest and most embarrassing people at times. They were both wearing t-shirts with my face printed on them and were waving signs like crazy. I burst out laughing before rushing over to my dad. He opened his arms wide for me to jump into, and I gladly embraced him. Next, I hugged my mom, a beautiful plus-sized African American woman with a warm smile and a big heart. Her hair was styled in vibrant red passion twists. My dad, a super tall Senegalese man with a beard and glasses, stood beside her.

After fussing over me for a while, my parents shifted their attention to Akira, who had chosen to wear sunglasses and a cap to conceal her identity. Luckily, they hadn't mentioned her name multiple times like they had in the past. Akira tended to attract a lot of attention in public, especially in Tokyo. However, somehow, she seemed to be even more recognizable in Western media.

My mom and Sakura were quite close, and I knew that both of my parents were grateful to her for allowing me to stay in her home. As the two of them began gossiping about us, my dad turned to Gundham and started asking him about his studies. It felt strange to see them together, considering that Gundham had previously told me that my dad strongly disapproved of our relationship. Not that it mattered anymore. Gundham and I had no intentions of pursuing a romantic relationship with each other.

The drive back to my house was refreshing, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of joy being reunited with my parents. Our house was truly beautiful, with vines gracefully adorning the exterior of its gated walls. It boasted an open layout and had a total of five bedrooms. Akira and I would be sharing my room, while Sakura and Gundham would each have their own guest rooms. The last guest room was kept available in case any family members decided to visit during the summer.

As soon as we stepped through the front door, a cool breeze from the air conditioning greeted us, providing relief from the heat outside. Suddenly, a voice called out, interrupting our entrance. I looked up and saw a short blonde girl standing on the second floor of the loft, wearing a mischievous smirk. Angel wings adorned her back.

"It's you! The spy from the Ministry of Light," Akira exclaimed, panic evident in her voice as she brandished her mini wand. Instinctively, I positioned myself defensively, ready to ward off any potential attacks from this intruder. Our parents couldn't help but chuckle at the scene unfolding before them.

"I should've known you would be here, Stacey," I remarked, recognizing the mischievous blonde girl. She gracefully slid down the stairs, giving us a playful wink. "Try to catch me if you can," she taunted before darting away. Akira and I dropped our bags and eagerly chased after her. After a brief pursuit, we managed to catch her.
