Searching for you

Chapter 9

This may or may not be the final chapter I don't know. It depends on how this chapter goes. 😅 I hope you enjoy it though.

Urizen PoV

I can sense it. I can sense her, that power. But she is still here. Still within me and that power is tremendous. She pulsed within me protecting me. I could feel her tears, her sorrow. Soon this power will protect everything and us. 

Normal PoV

As the three made their way to Dante, the poet began to tell his tale. "The truth is..." his heavy breathing filling the cavern. "I wanted to be protected and loved..." he grunted. "But I was alone. My only choice was to survive." he grunted. However there was someone beside me. Someone who cared for me no matter what.  Nero laid V down wanting to give Laura a break since her strength was still that of a humans. 

"V you gotta rest." she panted laying beside him. Seeing that the woman beside him needed a break the obsidian haired male with the help of his cane stood back up. "Nero." he rasped. The boy stared at him. "there is no demon name Urizen." 

At this Laura looked up, confused. "There is only a man, a man who gave up everything and his humanity in the pursuit of power." No he didn't give up everything. Green hues glanced to Laura. If he truly gave up everything for power then why did he tell Laura to come to Red Grave and search for him. 

Shifting his attention back to Nero he continued onward. "He is Dante' older brother and Laura' husband." V wheezed. "Dante' brother and Laura' husband?" astounded that Dante even had one. 

Luara didn't pay any attention instead she was off in memory lane. 

Laura PoV

I was in a dark cavern. All around me where what looked like cells and it looked like the entire place was made up of blood vessels and veins. "Laura!" I recognized this voice, it was the voice of the girl who called me sister but her voice was older more mature. Strangely I didn't stop, I continued downward they're stomping footstep sounded out behind. "Laura!" they called again and I ignored them. Why was I ignoring them. "______ar!" at this I stopped. 

Why did she call me that? 

"Why! Why do you continuously disobey our father! Why do you go against everything he's given us, given to you. He's allowed you to run amock above. And he's welcomed you back with open arms. He's even allowing you to kill anyone and everyone who gets in your fuckn way. Hell he's even letting you kill his succubi!" she demanded. "Yet," she mumbled. "yet you continue to go back to them. To him. Sparda' kin, Father' fallen pet." 

At this I turned to them. In what felt like a flash I pushed her against the wall pressing a blade to her throat. "At least you remember my true name." my voice was anything but sweet. It was menacing and growl like. 

"You think I like those gifts. You think I like the name he oh so graciously bestowed upon me. In fact what even makes you believe I consider that demon my father." continuing to growl, I wasn't looking for an answer.  For deep down I knew it. 

"Have you forgotten why I left? Why I escaped to the human world all those years ago? Well let me remind you. That demon murdered our mother. All because she bore what others thought was Sparda kin. Which turned out to be his own but he didn't care. He murdered her anyway! " my own breathing at this point was heavy. Tears formulated in my mind as my heart ached. 

Glaring at her I hissed this, "I go back to him because I love him and I will always protect him. I failed the first time and that is my fault. I blame myself for it everyday. But I swear upon my mothers pendant that I will never abandon my family or those who've shone me kindness and gave me protection." 

Removing the blade I left the girl to her own devices. Sobs where heard as she screamed, "What about blood. I was mothers daughter as well!" she exclaimed. "What about me, ____ar!

Her plea fell upon deaf ears as I continued walking until I arrived at the deepest parts of the cell. Taking a deep breath I grabbed a key from my pocket and-

Normal PoV

"Laura we need to get moving." Nero told. Snapping out of her reverie she quickly nodded and helped V up. 

Urizen PoV 

Dante had arrived. "Yep this is where it all started. That day mother saved me and..." he began walking towards us. "left you behind." Her heart pulsed coiling tighter in my chest. She remembers that day. It haunts her dreams and it is always her nightmare. The day she couldn't save our mother and the day she knew Sparda was dead. "The thing you don't know is she tried to save you too!" exclaiming his cry. "She kept searching and searching... until it killed her." 

She pulsed again, this time faster. Bringing a claw to my chest placing it there wanting to calm her. This is the human part of us, this belong to the weakness. But that weakness of ours is what drives her. "I have no recollection of this tale" her beating heart pulsing rapidly. "nor this place." 

"It is all merely and illusion. Created by this extraordinary fruit." removing my claw from my chest I reached it towards the fruit. "It's power, you see, is all I ever wanted." she beated against me, wanting to remind us of what I no longer knew. For it belonged to the weakness. 

"And with this" grabbing the fruit "I, will, have, everything!" I swallowed it whole. Power ran through us as we digested the power of the fruit. It was euphoric. 

Normal PoV

Dante stared at his brother. The vines of armor disappearing as the illusion cracked. "No brother you don't have everything." the red clad devil said as he walked towards his twin. "That last shred of humanity you still had?" stopping just a few meters from him, his gaze smug. "You just lost it." 

Urizen turned towards Dante, the former squinting as he saw what was underneath the vines of armor. Urizen made his way towards the devil his armor falling as he walked revealing his face. "Those are nothing but the pitiful cries of those without strength." he explained. "Come to me, brother," his tone mocking. "I shall enlighten you Dante!" with that Urizens face was revealed. 

Yep definitely Vergil. With that the two began to fight.
