Searching for you

Chapter 4

Falling into the darkness Laura screamed reaching up but V pulled her towards him, wrapping his arms around her. Placing his head on hers he held her tightly. V hissed as he landed on the ground but quickly rolled over so the debris wouldn't land on them. This put him on top of her, hissing again he looked to Laura. "Are you alright?" he asked. The only answer she gave was slow nod though her face was as red as a rose. "An-and wh-what about you?" she asked.

Before he could answer,  Griffon flew above them, "Whew, were alive. We made it." the bird sighed. "It's our lucky day V. Let's go find a game of cards."

The eagle looked down but then cawed, "Or you could do something else." he taunted laughing. The girl tilted her head, her face going back to it's normal ivory shade, in confusion. Unlike the man above her who had a blush. He got up, glaring at the bird. Then he looked around seeing roots all around them, "These Qliphoth roots, there everywhere."

"Yeah well we are underground." the bird remarked. "Then, I guess we have some cleaning up to do." he said helping the girl up. "And me without my gardening shears."  the two ignored the bird and began walking.

'Why did I shield her?  Am I in love with her? No, I can't fall in love with her, she's married.' he reasoned shaking his head. He turned his gaze to Laura whose brown orbs aimlessly looked around. 'She's so devoted that even though she's scared, she'll do anything for him. Now if it were me in her husband's position. I'd be lucky.' turning to look forward again.

While V wasn't looking, the woman who was plaguing his mind turned her gaze to him. 'What is it about him that feels so comforting?  When he held me close to him, I felt safe from the world. Even though he's so mysterious, I've felt like I've known him my entire life.' she thinks.

They continued to walk then a barrier blocked there way. The girl looked behind them seeing that the way they came was also blocked. She squeaked and hid behind V, "Get to work." the man ordered as Griffon blasted the reapers as they appeared.

Shadow, came forth and quickly demolished them while Laura whacked the ones that came too close. Once the last demon was killed the barrier shattered. The woman sighed then smiled, "Ne kitty, do ya want to race?" she asked. The cat looked at her then roared as it sped off with the girl tailing behind.

"She does know that were in a demon infested city right?" Griffon asked. His master didn't answer as he only walked after the two.

The two have been wandering around the ship for awhile and haven't found any exit. Laura as usual wasn't paying attention she turned back to face the front when she screamed. Both master and servant turned to see that a demons leg was dangling in front of her. The woman ran to stand beside the dark haired man. She gripped the poets arm and peeked out behind him.  "What're you doing down there?" Nero asked from above. The three looked up, "You didn't think you did that by yourself did ya?" the familiar laughed.

The white haired boy squatted down. "Y'know I bet you taste like chicken." This made Laura' grip loosen as she glared at the boy.

"Oh, you ungrateful sonofa" Griffon was about to fly towards him when V put his cane in front of him. "I'll leave this beast to you. We must press on." he said turning away this caused the girl to let go of him. She turned to face the boy and smiled. "Bye Nero, don't die." Laura said as she walked away.

Nero sighed as he watched her go out of sight. V you better protect her if you know what's good for you. he glared down into the hole.
