Chapter 3

I don't own DMC franchise nor series. I just play the games. Though I've only played DMC 4 and 5.

V and Laura were entering an area that looked like a cafe of some sorts. As soon as they stepped foot in the area there were blocked off on either sides as demons with scythes and cleavers appeared. V summoned Nightmare, Griffon blasted them while Shadow stayed near Laura. Killing those that got too close the brown eyed women doing the same with her bow as well as shooting at some. Finally the demons where gone, "Those things were scary." she sighed her legs shaking. Emerald eyes turned to her as she smiled at Shadow rubbing against her legs. Walking towards her, V stood next to her. Looking up she tilted her head. "V is everything alright?" she asked getting up. The poet didn't say anything as he lifted his hand. "Um, Uh V wh-what ar-are you doing?" she asked stepping back. He placed a calloused hand on her cheek gently rubbing it.

  Her face is so cute when she blushes, wait why am I thinking that? he asked himself. "Um v -V is there something wrong?" she stuttered. "No, it's just you had a scratch on you face." he lied putting his hand back down.

He turned and walked forward while Laura just stood there. Her hands shaking until Shadow finally snapped her out of it. Looking to the cat she smiled. Running to catch up with him, she saw him enter the telephone booth. Inserting a coin he entered the women's number. "Come meet me. We're at-" he didn't finish because Nico cut him off. "Yeah, yeah, yeah keep your panties on. I see ya already. Be right there." with that V hung up the phone, he was about to exit when Laura grabbed him by the arm quickly jerking him out of Nico's way. The van landed right where V used to stand. The goth looked to her, seeing that she had his arm pressed against her chest. "You can let go now, Little Wanderer." he answered. She blinked, suddenly it clicked. She immediately let go and pushed herself against the wall.

"I, I did, didn't mean to - to do that is, it's, it's just that Nico can be be a bit reckless at times." she stuttered waving her hands in front of her. V chuckled at her shy nature. Walking towards her he took her hand. "It's fine." he smiled. The shy girl was about to say something but stopped and blushed since she saw Nico giving her a smug grin. "C'mon I didn't come here to see the two of ya make out!" she yelled. This caused the two to blush immensely. V released her as she marched towards the gunsmith.  "NICO!" the women whined. The artisan laughed, at the girls face.

After the two exited the van Nico told them that she was gonna relax and have a smoke, Laura gagged at that. Which Nico rolled her eyes and placed her feet on the dashboard. They continued walking but stopped when a tentacle like thing came after them. Wrapping his arm around Laura, V jumped out of the creatures way. As the poet got up, Laura day there stunned. "Little Wanderer, it would be unwise to sit there." V warned. At his voice the shy woman got up, just in time to see a worm thing with spikes come out of the quilphoth. "You dodged me! Did you dodge me?" its distorted voice asked.

The tattooed man held his arm out as Griffon landed on it. "Nidhogg I never liked this guy." the bird stated. "You pest. Do I know you?" it asked. "Dumb as a box of rocks. Let's not even mess with this guy, V."

"V, Griffon duck!" Laura yelled. The two turned and quickly ducked out of the way as one of Nidhoggs tentacles came after them. Laura swiftly whacked it with her bow. Shrieking it disappeared into dust. "Did you just attack me?" he asked. "Did you just attack me? I'll kill you!" he proclaimed. "Not in this lifetime." V said walking in front of her holding his cane up.

A tentacle thing came at them. As the two jumped. While Laura was still in mid air she drew her bow as the string glowed blue. Releasing her arrow multiple other ones followed. Many of them hit the tentacles and Nidhog itself. Shadow on its masters command attacked the parasite. Though the thing retracted into the Qliphoth.

"Shit know we gotta lure him out. That's jus fuck'n great."Griffon exclaimed. Brown eyes blinked as there turned to the demon. "What does shit and fuck'n mean?" her voice holding the innocence of a child.

V face palmed. "It appears that one does not listen when someone tries to warn them." He said as he ordered the demon to get back to work.

They kept destroying the tentacles but every time they got a chance to get Nidhog out of the root, a tentacle would show up and attack. Having enough of this the small woman looked to the bird demon. "Hey Griffon could you do me a favor?"

The bird flew over and looked to her, putting a hand to his ear she whispered something. The demon blinked, "You sure about that Girlie?" "Of course I am, what's the problem?" Laura asked.

"Well it's just that well he might see us coming." he answered. "But he doesn't have eyes." Griffin was about to answer but a tentacle came smashing at them.

V turned but Griffon beat him to it. Shadow and master looked up to see Griffon holding onto Laura, "Alright Girlie you win but don't say I didn't warn you." he said as he threw her at the demon. Laura started to draw back her bow and as she did a brilliant blue arrow came forth and just as Nidhog was about to go back into the root. The brown eyed woman shot at it pinning it to the wall. (see what I did there) Then when a plant came at her she whacked it with her bow effectively making it lurch upwards propelling her towards the parasite. 

Before she could hit the creature shadow had pounced down on her using her as a trampoline she shrieked but luckily V caught her. The two stared at each other that is until the black haired woman blushed, blinking the poet put her down, to which she immediately got up. V charged at the pinned Nidhog jumping up, he pierced through the worm right where Laura's arrow is. "The cut worm forgives the plow, what do you say forgive and forget." he said as he finished off Nidhog. 

The worms carcass disappearing along with the roots though behind it all there was a huge demon the size of a skyscraper. Laura gasped, as the man beside her remained placid. "Okay, um, all right that's not good at all." Griffon said aloud.

"V, where are you going?" Laura asked as she went after him. "Don't tell me your running away?" his familiar asked turning to him. "That's not a good sign."

"I'm afraid that ,that's" he started as he turned to look at the two. " a little bit more than I can handle." gesturing towards the huge demon. He turned around wanting to leave before the demon saw them. Suddenly the demon started firing at the two

Laura faltered but V grabbed her hand and started to run. Griffon was panicking while Shadow was running as fast as she could. As the demon continued to shoot, the ground caved in beneath the them. Nico watched as she got up, scared for Laura, "Damn it, I knew I should have added a grappling hook to that bow and arrow." she said scolding herself.

Finally done, sorry this took so long. The only time I've got inspiration is when I'm playing the game. I'm really sorry but I hope you liked this chapter.
