Obi-Wan Force jumped right before she got to him, causing her to lose her balance. Snow fell from above, and she looked up to see him crouched on a branch, giving her a quizzical look.

"Mind telling me why you're here?"

In the pocket of his robe, she could see a faint blue light pulsing: a holocron. Is that how he'd find the temple?

Pushing herself up, she smirked at him. "It seems you already know the answer."

Obi-wan leaped, his lightsaber going straight towards her. She blocked the swing with the cross of her sabers and he slipped behind her. They clashed their sabers, trading from offense to defense, their moves too fast for the eyes to follow. The Force was all that they could depend on.

As they went on, Asajj grew impatient. This was taking too long. She started striking faster, with less control, pushing Obi-wan back. Her eyes were almost glued to the holocron. It was her driving force; with it, she could find the temple more easily and, more importantly, stop Obi-Wan from finding it himself.

He was starting to tire, but so was she.

Asajj noticed a large branch nearby, and reached for it through the Force.

He anticipated her move, and instead of being crushed by the branch, he stopped it and flung it her way. Her sabers sliced it in half, but the distraction gave him an opening.

He didn't realize it gave her one too.

Obi-wan forced her hands back. Her sabers slid out of her hands and fell into the snow. She fell alongside them, and she could feel the heat of Obi-wan's saber above her neck.

He smirked down at her. "I suppose this means you've lost?"

"Have I?"

She Force-pushed him back as hard as she could, jumping up to her feet and pulling one of her sabers to her hand—the other clutching the holocron.

"I enjoyed the fight, but I have places to be."

And with that, she shoved all the snow lying on the branches down at the still-disoriented Jedi and ran.

Asajj hadn't realized she left her other saber behind until she reached for nothing. She also didn't realize how bad her injuries were until after her victory. But the pain didn't matter; nothing mattered until she found it.

Asajj still held the holocron in her hand, and it grew brighter as she moved closer to the temple.

It was now past twilight, and the fog was beginning to clear. The snow was smooth and untouched, the trees still cradling snow on their branches.

In the distance was a large silhouette.

She jumped towards it, expecting to finally see what she'd been tirelessly looking for.

But all there was was a lonely boulder, mocking her desperation. She balled up her hands and screamed, and with all her might she threw the Jedi holocron into the snow.

It landed right next to the boulder, and upon closer inspection, she could see ever-so-faint drawings engraved into the rock. She ran her hands along them and began slowly pacing around the boulder. There were many illustrations that without a second glance may have come by as incoherent lines: suns, moons, wolves, symbols she didn't understand, and three recurring figures, the most notable to her being the girl with the owl.

On the other side of the rock was a small dent. Around this dent was a carving of a ring, the outside of the ring being surrounded by wolves.

Then it clicked.

She darted around the boulder—the movement hurting her ribs—and grabbed the holocron, placing it into the opening. Immediately, it started to shine brighter, and the ground began to shake. The holocron was swallowed by a compartment hiding within the rock. The carvings all began to glow gold and move.

Wolves circled the ring, suns and moons rose and set, and the girl let her owl fly. It went soaring through the ring and disappeared.

Filled with awe, Asajj stepped in front of the ring, reaching her arm out. Her fingers grazed the stone, except it wasn't stone anymore. It was almost like water, except it had more purpose, more meaning. It called to her.

Then, before she could go any further, the floor below her collapsed.

~

She couldn't remember much of the before or the after. The chilly current swept her away. Her eyes fluttered open and she observed her surroundings.

Asajj felt shocked when she saw where she was, but she couldn't remember why. The temple was cold and dark. It was a circular room with unlit torches hanging on the walls. Pillars rose to the spherically shaped ceiling, engraved with carvings familiar to her.
In the middle was a pedestal, with a holocron pulsing a bright blue light.

She shot up, running to grab it. But when she clutched the cube, it turned into a red pyramid.

A Sith holocron.

Ah I didn't realize that I would need 3 parts for this! It's been fun to write, however. I enjoy writing things in regards to the lore of the Star Wars galaxy, and putting together my own theories / head canons on why things are the way they are.  Part 3 is already in the works!

Constructive criticism is welcome and appreciated and requests are open!
