(Y/N) (L/N) was a young, 10 year old boy. He was currently running away from some creature. He still couldn't believe what was happening. Just the night before, he had been in his abusive foster home. His mother had died giving birth to him, and he didn't know who his father was. This left him leaping from home to home in foster care. He didn't know why, but no matter what he did, every home he was sent to would get attacked mysteriously, and he'd be sent away. He was the black cat of every home he was sent to, a symbol of bad luck. His (H/C) hair was flowing as he ran, his (E/C) eyes watering from his fear.
"What do you want from me?!" He yelled at the creature. He didn't know why he was talking to it. He didn't even know if it could understand English or not. He had always been a fan of Greek mythology, and he recognized the creature as a Basilisk, but he didn't understand why no one seemed worried about it. It was like they couldn't see it. His sides were hurting and his heart was pounding, both from the pain, and the fear he felt. No matter where he went, it found him, and he was unable to stop to eat, sleep, or drink, so he was exhausted.
As he was running, he tripped over something. He looked down to see a dagger. It was a bronze color, and it had jagged edges. He picked it up, and noticed the words on the side of it, 'Ηχητικό κύμα.'
"Sound wave." He doesn't know how, but he is immediately able to translate the name. He stands up, and looks at the Basilisk, holding up the dagger. His finger accidentally presses a button on it, and it extends into a sword.
"Cool! This will be a lot more useful!" He looks at the Basilisk, and, as if it were instinct, he charges towards it, swinging the sword, slashing the Basilisk's torso, the monster dissolving into gold powder.
All of a sudden, he hears a sound coming from behind him, and he turns around, sword raised. Three people emerge from an alleyway, their hands raised in non-threatening gestures. There was a boy with blonde hair and blue eyes, about 17. There was a girl around his age, with blonde hair and gray eyes. And finally, there was another girl. She looked to be around 13. She had short, spiky black hair, with electric blue eyes. She looked beautiful, but after everything that happened, (Y/N) wasn't just going to trust them immediately. He kept the sword raised, a threatening look on his face, which looked less threatening because of the tears stains, and his childish look.
"Hey, it's okay. You can put the sword away. We're half-bloods, like you." The black-haired girl said. Her voice was gentle, and (Y/N) was tempted to listen to her, but he still remained on guard, though he lowered the sword a bit.
"Half-Bloods? What is a Half-Blood? Who are you guys? Why was I attacked?!" His voice raised slightly in fear as he continued talking. Tears had started falling again, his adrenaline having wore off. He felt both mentally and physically exhausted, and he knew he had to find somewhere safe to stay, unless he wanted to pass out from exhaustion.
"Hey, calm down, kid." The boy spoke. His voice wasn't as gentle or calming as the girl's, and (Y/N) stepped back away from him nervously.
The black-haired girl walks forward, kneeling down to (Y/N)'s level. "Calm down. We're not going to hurt you. You can trust us." (Y/N) felt himself getting more tired as he listens to her calming tone, and his tears stop falling as much, though he was still terrified. "My name is Thalia Grace. This is Luke Castellan." She points to the boy. "And that's Annabeth Chase." She points to the other girl. "We're Half-Bloods. That means that, like you, we're half-god, half-human."
"What...? Half-god?" His voice was surprised, and disbelieving. "You mean like, the Greek Gods? How is that possible? I thought those were myths!"
"No, they're real. And you're a Half-Blood, like us. That's why you were attacked." Thalia stops talking for a moment, noticing (Y/N)'s exhaustion, and her expression softens more. "You look so tired... You need some food, water, and some sleep..."
(Y/N) nods in response, his eyes closing for a moment, his body stumbling a bit, before he jolts awake again. His adrenaline and fear had wore off, and now he wanted to curl up in a nice, cozy bed, and hibernate through the entire summer. He starts dozing off again, but as he stumbles, Thalia catches him. He relaxes in her arms, dropping the sword, which turned back into a dagger as it touches the ground. He suddenly feels himself being picked up gently, but he doesn't fight it. He lets Thalia put him on her back. He knew that, even if he didn't feel safe with her, he wouldn't stand a chance at winning a fight in his current shape. He watches the blonde girl, Annabeth, pick up Sound Wave, and press a button. It turned into a coin, and she put it in her pocket. That was the last thing he saw before he fell asleep.
-Time Skip, cuz yes.-
When (Y/N) woke up again, he was on the grass on a hill, and a few feet away from him, Thalia was fighting some monsters. He immediately recognized them as cyclopes. By the time he was able to comprehend everything, he saw the cyclops go in for an attack, and next thing he knew, where Thalia had stood before, there was now a pine tree in her place. (Y/N) hadn't really talked to the girl, as he had been unconscious since he had met her, but she had been the first person he had trusted, and felt safe with. For this reason, he instinctively lunged towards her, tears springing to his eyes as he cries out. "NO!" His tears start falling, and he reaches into his pocket, feeling the coin, and he pulls it out. Out of instinct, he flips it, and it turns into a sword. He surges towards the cyclopes, slashing them in a fit of rage and despair. The first time he feels safe, and meets someone who genuinely cares for him, he loses them immediately after he meets them.
He receives many blows from the monsters, but in his fit of rage, and despair, his adrenaline keeps him from feeling it. After a few minutes, he had killed all of the cyclopes, and he stood there, panting as tears continues falling. He looks over, noticing the other two people from earlier, Luke and Annabeth, as well as a young-looking Satyr. They stare at him in shock, and after a moment, they break out of the shock, gesturing for him to follow. He does, and his body starts feeling the pain from the hits he'd taken. He could care less, though.
During the short time he had known Thalia, he had trusted her more than anything. And now, she was gone. And he couldn't help but blame himself. Things like this always happened, no matter what he did. He was a black cat, a symbol of bad luck. At this thought, his expression turns from one of sadness, to one of pure apathy. 'If I'm going to be a black cat, I'm going to make sure that my opponents are affected by that bad luck as well. Any monsters I encounter will regret ever being born, by the time I'm done with them. They'll remember the name, (Y/N) (L/N). If names have power, then I'm going to make sure no one ever says the name (Y/N) again. They'll fear the mention of me, just as I once did them.' He thinks bitterly. 'They'll regret killing Thalia. And, they'll regret crossing my path.'
He walks into camp, and he is led with Annabeth and Luke to the people in charge. He is introduced to Dionysus and Chiron. They were about to tell him which cabin he would be staying in until he was claimed, but before they could, (Y/N) starts glowing. He looks up, seeing a golden sun above him. It had exactly 21 rays, each of which were arrows. He didn't need to be told what was happening. He immediately knew. He had been claimed by Apollo, the God of the Sun.
"Welcome, (Y/N) (L/N), son of Apollo, the God of the Sun. You will be staying in Cabin 7."
(Y/N) nods, and once dismissed, he walks to his cabin, and puts his stuff away. Though, he doesn't really have anything except a few pairs of clothes, and his hygiene stuff, as well as Sound Wave. He introduces himself to his siblings in the Apollo cabin, and waits for dinner.
Throughout his time at Camp Half-Blood, he meets new people, trains, makes friends, and he even gets a makeover from the Aphrodite cabin. They give him a haircut, as his hair had grown out, since none of his foster parents cared enough to take care of it. They gave him some new clothes, including a Camp Half-Blood T-Shirt. Once they finish the makeover, he could hardly recognize himself. He carried himself with a newfound confidence.
He never forgot his promise though. He was going to avenge Thalia, even if it meant killing every monster, one-by-one, and sending them all down to Tartarus himself.
