Hello, everyone! Granola here! I am back from my short mental health break, and I had an idea for an update on the book, so I'm gonna write it! Also, quick note, I ship Zartemis, so don't be surprised to see me altering canon a little to include the two as a romantic couple, or at least an implied romantic couple/mutual crushes! And remember, this is an AU, and in my AU, the Hunters of Artemis are allowed to date women, and if you got a problem with that, either ignore it, or leave! Don't leave comments saying, "That's not canon!" Or, "Rick confirmed that to be untrue in (Insert book here)!" That's all I had to say! Enjoy this chapter!

It was after Capture the Flag, with the Hunters winning for the 56th time in a row. (Y/N) had been shocked when he had noticed the Oracle, who had come out to speak to Zoe Nightshade.
"Five shall go west to the goddess in chains,
One shall be lost in the land without rain,
The bane of Olympus shows the trail,
Campers and Hunters combined prevail,
The Titan's curse must one withstand,
And one shall perish by a parent's hand."
After hearing the prophecy, (Y/N) zoned out a little, thinking of what the prophecy meant. He was shocked when he had heard that Thalia would be going with them on the quest. Before he could protest, the group had dispersed.
After a few hours of (Y/N) trying to talk to Thalia (to no avail), the group, which were only four, due to a prank the Stoll brothers had played on Phoebe, were leaving. (Y/N) was finally able to talk to Thalia, but he knew it was too late to change her mind about the quest. He approaches the dark-haired girl, and gives her a small smile.
"Good luck on your quest, Thals." (Y/N) says.
"Thanks, (Y/N). I'll see you when I get back." Thalia replies, smiling softly at the younger boy.
"Listen, Thalia." (Y/N)'s voice was nervous as he spoke. "The last line of the prophecy didn't sit right with me. I don't know who it'll be, but Zeus isn't exactly known for protecting his children, or anyone, really. So, just... Be careful, okay?"
Thalia smiles softly, before wrapping her arms around (Y/N), gently hugging him, the younger boy reciprocating the affection eagerly. "I will, don't worry," She says. "I'll be back in a few days. And, I'll tell you all about my awesome journey."
"I'll hold you to that."
Before either of them could say anything else, Zoe had announced their departure, and the two let go of each other, much to the (H/C) haired boy's disappointment. He watched sadly as Thalia left with the other people.
-Time Skip-
If (Y/N) said he had stayed behind and waited patiently for the group to return, he would've been lying. Within a few minutes of them leaving, he had gotten worried, and had snuck out of camp to follow them.
As he was following them, unsurprisingly, he saw Percy, who had apparently had the same idea. However, unlike (Y/N), he hadn't been sneaky about it. Mr. D had caught him, and was currently getting onto him. (Y/N) wasn't worried about that, though. Instead, he focused on following the group of four. He had gotten Thalia back not long before that. He wasn't going to lose her again.
He continued following the group, and eventually notices that Percy had begun following them again. Dionysus must've let him off of the hook, (Y/N) thought.
Many times during the quest, (Y/N) considered announcing his presence, but he doesn't. That is, until the Nemean Lion attacks them. Seeing the group struggling, (Y/N) quickly jumps in. He flips his coin, and it turns into an electric guitar. The young boy had practiced his music during the year, while he was alone. Now, he could finally put it to good use. He pulls out a guitar pick, and starts playing a riff to a song he had taught himself (Which song it was is up to you). Visible sound waves formed, knocking the lion off it's balance, and within moments, it had been killed by Zoe.
After taking a moment to turn his guitar back into a coin, (Y/N) walked into view of the group. He gives a nervous wave to the group. "Hey, guys... What a coincidence, meeting you five here..." He chuckles nervously, waiting for the group to get mad at him for following.
However, much to his surprise, the anger never comes. Instead, Bianca and Thalia walk up to him, Bianca complimenting his guitar playing, while Thalia checks on him to make sure he's okay. He looks back at the others. Grover was waving at him. Percy looked surprised still, his brain apparently not having comprehended what had happened quite yet. Zoe, however, looked annoyed at the idea of there being another guy on the team. After a while, the group had stopped talking, and had began walking towards their destination, (Y/N) making small talk with Bianca, who was interested in his music. He made friends with the younger girl instantly, much to his surprise. He quickly began to fit in with the group as they headed to save Artemis and Annabeth.
