With a heavy sigh, I flip my laptop shut, catching Matteo's attention. He, too, has been working on his phone. We decided to reduce our workload, so that we could take a few days off from the office.
I found it difficult to get anything done with a teenage girl, my Sorellina, sleeping across the aisle. Still, I managed to get some tasks done.
I look at her petite figure, with her head resting on Matteo's shoulder - unconsciously, I think - she looks peaceful while sleeping.
I can see Matteo is trying his best to make less to no movement, so that he won't wake her up.
I sip my drink and turn to Matteo as I speak, "What shall we do?". I pause as I see Matteo put his phone aside before continuing, "Kyrie being a girl changes everything."
"Yeah it does, brother," Matteo sighs.
Kyrie being, not only a girl but also the Mafia Princess, only puts her in more danger.
Being a powerful mafia, we usually have many enemies. And for ages, our enemies have been trying to get us by various means. But, the only way our enemies can get to us is through the people we care about, which is our family. And Kyrie is not only our family, our sister, but also the mafia princess.
I need to inform this to dad as soon as possible.
"She seems like a closed person", Matteo states after few moments, to which I nod.
"I thought she would not speak to us for the remaining journey, but I was happy when she initiated a conversation, although I had to persuade her a little", he says while looking at her with a smile.
I can clearly see that he has taken a liking towards her already. Who cannot?
Turning to me he continues, "What do you think, why didn't Matilda inform her about us?"
"Maybe she thought, if she won't tell her about us, then she won't have to bring Kyrie to visit us", I responded.
Dad told us - me and Matteo - when we started working in our company, about his and Matilda's arranged marriage and also the terms of their divorce, the important term being her not contacting any of us.
"That makes sense", Matteo says. "But don't you think she's hiding something from us?" he continues.
"Yes", I nod.
"So, are you going to tell Pablo to find out everything about her?"
Pablo is one of my most trusted man and also a close friend. I have known him for years, as he grew up with my family and I. I trust him with my life,so I know that he can handle tasks like these perfectly.
"She is family, Matteo", I tell him, giving a look.
He just smirks in return saying, "That's the first Sandro."
