*same evening*
Looking afar in the darkness with blank face, Alessandro stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, where the rain was pinging against it in their common sitting area, his arms folded in front of his chest, deep in thought.
Matteo was informing the cook to prepare something light and also to make a soup for Kyrie so that she could have something warm to have immediately when she wakes up. While Onyx stood next to him, telling to add a few ingredients in her food.
The twins were sitting on a couch, talking quietly to each other as they all waited for Zeus to get the surveillance footage.
Luca sat beside them not interested in listening to their conversation as he kept glancing down the hallway, wanting nothing more than to sprint back to his sister's room. But he also wanted to know what had happened earlier, for her to leave so abruptly.
He was wondering whether he should wait or go back when he heard Matteo's voice. "Sandro," Matteo called out to Alessandro, once the surveillance footage was cast on the screen, effectively catching everyone's attention.
Alessandro turned a little to face him, who gestured towards the screen with his head, making Alessandro turn his attention to the screen, still with a stoic expression.
The others also straightened up in their seats, some leaning forward and resting their elbows on their knees with their hands clasped as Zeus began to play the recordings of when Kyrie had left.
The brothers started watching as Kyrie quietly walked out of her room with a duffel bag on her shoulder after making sure no one was in the hallway.
Their hearts clenched as they noticed her puffy eyes and red face as she cried softly while glancing at the doors of the others, momentarily stopping in front of each of them as she walked slowly. They furrowed their eyebrows a little, when they saw her stopping a little longer at Hades' closed bedroom door.
Zeus switched the camera footage when she began to walk down the hallway. But they were surprised when she took the turnoff to the emergency exit which they had not mentioned to her yet and was hidden, only their family members and a few of their trusted men knew about it.
"How does she know about these stairs?" Matteo wondered aloud to himself.
Luca stiffened before saying nervously, "Uh, I showed her the stairs," fear clear in his voice. When he and Kyrie were walking down the stairs for breakfast a few days ago, he had shown her the emergency exit, without thinking much about it, which he had casually mentioned to her about earlier.
Matteo nodded in understanding before stating, "Don't worry, you are not in trouble," his eyes still fixed on the screen in front of him, causing Luca to relax in his seat. "We had to show her this exit at some point anyway," Matteo continued with a sigh, and the others agreed with him.
