I brought my hand up to the door and knocked on it. His parents should be working right now. Technically, so should he. It was 5:53, and the prisoners were loading onto the ship by now if they were leaving at 6. The door opened and Kyle stood there. He looked shocked before a smug look overcame his features.

"Before you get any bright ideas, I'm not here for a one night stand."

"Go on." He crossed his arms over his chest.

"I need you to arrest me and put me on the drop ship." He let out a hollow laugh.

"Why would I do that?"

"Because you don't like me. And you'd get the satisfaction of sending Kane's daughter down to a radiation soaked planet where I'll most likely die."

"So why do you wanna go?"

"Are you going to fucking do it or not?"

"Chill. I'm not on duty right now. Just let me go throw my stuff on real quick." I nodded as he shut the door. I glanced nervously down the halls. Now would be a horrible time for dad, Abby, or even Luke to come looking for me. Kyle came out a few seconds later and I looked at the clock. It was 5:57.
"If we're doing this, we have to hurry." I nodded and he grabbed something out of his pocket. "Hold out your arm."

"Why?"

"Because." Kyle said as he grabbed it anyways. "They won't believe that you're a prisoner if you don't." He clamped the bracelet onto my hand and I hissed as the needles stuck into my skin. He handcuffed me and put my hood up as we briskly walked towards the drop ship. My heart was beating fast. It was crunch time now.
"You know I could lose my job for this." He stated.

"Your dad would get you out of it anyways. Just like you have to make sure to put my vitals up there. I want my father to know that I'm down there."

"Alright." He nodded as we got to the doors, which were starting to close. "Wait! I've got one more."

"You're lucky Shumway." One of them said as they opened the doors again.

"This one's a fighter." I pulled away from him fiercely to prove his point.

"I thought you weren't on duty tonight."

"Got called in for help from my father."

"Alright, don't take too long, they all go on the second floor." I felt myself being pushed into the drop ship and my hood was pulled down. He took off the handcuffs and looked at me.

"Just for the record, I didn't say any of the things that my father told you. He didn't want us to be together because he hates Jaha and he hates your father. I thought it'd all blow over, but it obviously didn't. Be safe down there." He pressed his lips to mine before he pulled back. "Now get up there and buckle yourself in wherever there's a free seat. I'll be watching over you. I love you." I ran over to the ladder and climbed up before looking around for a seat. I spotted one on the end next to a girl with long brown hair. I ran over and buckled myself in before I pulled on it. This was going to be one hell of a ride. I took a deep breath and set my head back before realizing what had just happened. Kyle and I had broken up because his father told me all these nasty things that he had supposedly said about me. And he had just told me that none of it was true. It made sense, Kyle and I were mad about each other. We loved each other. And Kyle still loved me. I had moved on more or less. I was angry and hurt.
