"Thanks for having me over Lukie." I stressed, knowing he hated that nickname. "And for walking me home. Even though you don't have to."
"I know." He laughed. "You'd kick anyone's ass. Except mine that is. You couldn't handle all this." He gestured to himself and I snorted.
"You keep telling yourself that and maybe one day it'll come true."
"Yeah, yeah, now get over here and give me a hug." I rolled my eyes before walking into his open arms. "And besides, best friends look out for each other right?" I nodded against his shoulder as he let me go. Luke started to head back to his quarters and I turned around, facing the door. My hand was on the handle, the metal cool to the touch. I started to open the door before I heard noises. Voices, to be more specific. Slowly letting the door go, I looked around to make sure no one was coming before I pressed my ear to the door. Metal doors were very thick unfortunately, so I had to strain to hear what bits and pieces I got.
"Jake Griffin...problem...oxygen...people...riot...prisoners...Earth." Well, if I wasn't interested before, I sure as hell was now.
"Thelonious...float...people...uprisings...perhaps...2 days...give...one...month...Mecha." Deciding now was a great time to interrupt, I opened the door and faked my surprise to see Jaha sitting in the living room.
"Oh, Chancellor Jaha. I'm sorry, is this a bad time?" The Chancellor shook his head and smiled at me.
"You're fine Aliana. Just discussing the Earth Skills curriculum. An insider's opinion might be best. What do you think?" I stepped inside and shut the door behind me.
"No brainer. Cut chemistry and more studies on how photosynthesis works." Jaha let out a hearty laugh at my suggestion, although I was being completely serious.
"I'm not so sure about cutting chemistry out. But I'll run your other suggestion by the Council. Marcus tells me that you're excellent in botany?"
"Yes sir." I smiled as I took off my shoes. "Plants are very interesting."
"Wells likes botany too." Jaha smiled. "Very bright, the both of you." He added as he came over and put a hand on my shoulder.
"Thank you."
"No problem Aliana. Keep it up. Who knows? Maybe you'd be able to get a job at Hydra Station working with plants."
"That'd be cool." I nodded. Jaha smiled before turning back to my father.
"We'll discuss this further tomorrow Marcus." He removed his hand from my shoulder.
"Sir." Dad nodded as Jaha left our quarters. "Hey Aliana." Dad greeted as I walked over and sat by him on the couch. "Did you have fun?"
"As much fun as you can have on a ship in space." I replied as I leaned back into the arm.
"Where'd you go?"
"Luke's place. We watched Back To The Future."
"You've seen that movie so many times you could most likely recite the whole thing." Dad chuckled.
"There is no most likely Dad." I corrected. "I can recite the whole thing."
"Wanna watch something? I have some down time."
"Sure." I sighed as I sank into the cushions. "You pick." I yawned. "I'm tired."
"Okay kiddo." I gave a small smile. Dad's called me that since I was little. He told me that I was always going to stay a sassy kid, and he was right. I gave a small laugh when I heard the Star Wars theme song come on.

Romansa"This isn't going to work." Aliana sighed as she looked at Clarke and Octavia. Sure, the two didn't get along most of the time, but they were both there for Aliana in her time of need. "All the things I've done, everything that's happened, I've had...
