It hit us like an atomic bomb.
Suddenly the world was in a frenzy again.
Covid had did a number on us, but at least now we were more prepared.
A new viral infection, nicknamed the E.V.E virus, was now making an appearance all over the world.
Homicidal tendencies. Unfathomable rage.
However, it seemed that women were the only ones affected. Women were the the violent offenders.
Ironic, isn't it?
Decades of abuse, predatory behavior. All turned on its head by a simple virus.
It wasn't all men, though.
Isn't that what they say?
Not all men. Just the ones with the inclination to stalk, to follow, to put their hands where they didn't belong.
Every day, the news reported one death.
Two deaths.
Three deaths, four.
A blessed epidemic if you want my take on it.
You remember how it was when we were children?
If someone's kid had chickenpox, the parents would get us together to make sure you got it before you got older?
That's what happened.
Women everywhere were purposely infecting themselves to rid the world of a different kind of epidemic.
A classmate from college was stabbed in the street after he decided to follow a woman when he saw that she was clearly drunk.
A prominent congressmen was smothered to death in his hotel room after he accosted one of the cleaning ladies there.
It was beautiful.
It was magnificent.
It was everything I've ever wanted, but then... It hit a little closer to home.
First, an uncle went missing and was found under an underpass.
Security footage caught him trying to assault one of the women there.
It wasn't surprising honestly because he's always given me creepy vibes, but whatever.
That's what he gets.
Then, my brother, who always seemed so quiet and polite was murdered the very next day.
Apparently had been stalking a girl at school following her home, following her to her classes, cat fishing her...all types of crazy s*** that I never knew he was capable of.
I'm just gonna say it's not a sickness. It's not an illness.
It's a thing of beauty, pure majesty. And if you want, it can be yours. I can give you a little piece.
We all could use a little peace.
