The week had passed much quicker than she'd anticipated, but they'd gone snowboarding more than once. They'd watched more films, had sex a few more times and took advantage of the outdoor hot tub. Not all of their hot tub activities were innocent either. They had just gotten home and were unpacking when Draco got a call. He stepped out to answer it. Hermione didn't think anything of it until he came back. "You might not want to unpack the rest."
She frowned. "Why? Is something wrong?"
"No. That was my solicitor and your house is ready. You can move in anytime."
Hermione looked up at him, shocked. "I thought it would take a month? It's only been 2 weeks."
He shrugged. "There was damage from the hurricane a few months back, but it was repaired quicker than they thought it could be, so they said you can move in whenever you're ready."
She smiled. "Well, that's great. I will miss you though."
He chuckled. "You have my mobile number and you can call me anytime, but it's not like I'm going anywhere. I'm still here when you need me and I'll still be taking you on dates, Madam Minister." He kissed her head. "Not to mention you can come over anytime you want."
She nodded as she hugged him, laying her head on his chest and sighing. "I know. Thank you. I guess I'm just used to you being with me whenever I need you."
He kissed her hair and nodded. "I know, but I'm only a phone call away or you can apparate over. Plus, I'll see you everyday during the week for lunch. And I know we've only just come back, but would you go on a date with me this weekend?"
She smiled up at him. He always seemed to know exactly how to make her feel at ease. Nodding, she kissed his cheek. "Of course I will. Where are we going?"
He shrugged. "I was thinking we could go see that new film you mentioned and to dinner."
She grinned. "I'd like that."
They moved to sit on the sofa and the photo on the front of the Daily Prophet caught both their attention. Draco picked it up off the coffee table and opened it. In black and white on the front page was a photo of them with the headline, Minister and Heir: What No One Expected. Both proceeded to read the article and were surprised it wasn't slanderous or a bunch of lies. Looking to see who wrote it, they understood why. Parvati had written the article. She had gotten quotes from all of their friends as well as Padma who was reported in saying, "Mr. Malfoy has become a very kind and courteous individual and he treats Hermione like the queen she is. I've never seen her so happy before and I hope it stays that way."
Hermione laughed when they finished the article. "Well, that went a lot better than I expected. She even wrote about the initiatives I'm working on as well as all the wonderful work you're doing." She then sighed. "I wonder how this is going to blow up in my face though."
Draco frowned. "What do you mean?"
"I mean, things always seem to go well for me and Harry just before everything goes wrong. It's part of why neither of us really tried to date for a long time. He deserves it though and I won't let anyone destroy the happiness he's found, even if it means I don't get to be happy. He's sacrificed and lost too much."
Hugging her, the blonde shook his head. "Mi, I'm not going anywhere. You deserve happiness, too and I know Harry would agree with me on that."
She shrugged. "Perhaps, but I can feel it. Something is about to happen and not something good."
Making her face him, he deadpanned. "And we will handle it together."
After searching his eyes for a moment, she nodded. "Alright."
