Hermione hadn't been able to get the previous night out of her mind. Even now, as she sat at her desk with a stack of paperwork, all she could think about was the mystery man who had made her feel feminine, beautiful and like someone worth his time. She wanted him to be her dom or at least to tell her what she had done wrong.
She sighed as her assistant walked into her office. As the youngest and first female Minister of Magic, she liked to leave her door open so people could see that she was on the same side as them and that she didn't think she was better than them. "Good morning Padma."
"Good morning, Hermione. Shall I bring your tea now or would you like to look over these gifts and letter that were delivered for you first?"
Hermione smiled as the woman set down a vase full of lilies and a neatly wrapped box. She took the offered envelope. "Now would be fine. I need to finish these files and my mind is simply not in them. Perhaps tea would help."
"I'll make your favorite green tea then." She smiled as she turned back to the door.
"Thank you, Padma."
"You're welcome, Hermione."
When the woman was gone, she quickly opened the letter and began to read.
Hermione,
I first want to apologize for the way I left last night. I was informed you believed it was because I did not find you satisfactory enough to be my sub. I want to assure you, that is absolutely not true. As a matter of fact, I left because I DO want you to be my sub and I wanted to get this to you as soon as possible. I know we didn't do a lot last night, but I would prefer to discuss that in person. Since I didn't let you see me last night, I feel I should explain why.
You see, you know me already and I was afraid you would refuse if you knew who I was before knowing the truth. The truth is that I specifically asked your friends to bring you last night. Ginny told you I haven't found what I've been looking for in a submissive, but the truth is, I know exactly what and more importantly WHO I want. You are who I want and I have for a long time. I'd like to meet and discuss if we could have a relationship moving forward, but I'd like to do it without the mask this time. All I ask is that you give me a chance to explain before you leave, as I suspect you will when you discover who I am. If you agree, meet me at Chez Paris for dinner tonight at 7.
I'll look forward to tonight,
Your (hopeful) future DomHermione couldn't help the smile on her face. He said they knew each other and her friends obviously knew him. There were very few people that could be given that Ginny wouldn't set her up with anyone who would bore her. Smiling happily to herself, she opened the box and pulled out a beautiful, dark purple, leather dress. Another note fell out. 'If you agree to come, wear this and we'll go to the club after.' She couldn't help but feel giddy.
Not long after, Padma brought her tea with two cups and informed her Ginny was there. When the redhead walked in, she smirked. "Still think he doesn't want to be your dom?"
Hermione narrowed her eyes. "You knew, didn't you?" Ginny just shrugged. "I don't suppose you'll tell me who he is?" At her friend's silence, she sighed. "He said I'd refuse him if I knew who he was without knowing the truth. That doesn't leave many people. Ginny please tell me I'm not going to regret this?"
"Hermione, relax. I made sure it was someone you could be yourself with and who was up to your standards. I know why he said that, but I need you to promise me that you'll at least give him a chance to explain. I know he's right and your initial reaction will be to hex him and leave, but I need you to fight that urge. There are things that you don't know. Things that I couldn't tell you before and now it isn't my place to tell you." She sighed heavily. "Just...just promise you'll hear him out?"
