Note: I named chapter 6 Desmios given that that chapter was when she showed her true side. Sorry if this bothered anyone. also, I realized that I still haven't had Xiao tell Monchou about the dead Yakshas...I might put it in here.....

----

Ganyu teleported us in front of a beautiful, gold building. I was puzzled as to why I had never seen it before, yet it looked so familiar. I knew why when I looked down. The entirety of Liyue was spread and even more. I could see past the nation of Liyue, looking into what I knew was the nation of the Dendro Archon and her people. I gasped at the beautiful blue sky above, spinning around with my arms open, for a moment forgetting that I was Desmios, the demon of the Yakshas.

I heard Ganyu clear her throat, reminding me of who I was and why I was here. A meeting. With a mortal, no less. The absurdity of Adepti and Yakshas bowing low to a mortal was ridiculous. I scoffed at that thought. It was our job to protect humans without contact with them, instead, we were at the beck and call of one mortal lady. Shaking my head, I followed Ganyu to the large double doors, the guards opening them to let us in.

"Lady Ganyu." the two guards echoed, bowing at the waist, eyes still up. Ganyu nodded at them, her smile a little larger as we stepped over the threshold of the building. it was as beautiful on the inside as it was outside. Maybe more so.

A lady in a red dress walked up to Ganyu, bowing slightly. "Lady Ganyu, Lady Ningguang has been expecting you and Lady Kequing. You don't happen to know where Lady Kequing is?"

"I believe that Kequing had an appointment with Yanfei regarding legal trading down at the harbors. I was supposed to do that today, but she had to take over in my absence." Ganyu winced at the thought, turning to me. "Kequing isn't the best when it comes to legal matters." I nodded my confused expression clearing. Right at that moment, the two double doors behind us opened again, a purple-haired girl walking in purposefully, her heels clipping on the wood floor.

"Lady Kequing! There you are." the lady in red said, "Lady Ningguang has been waiting for you two." Kequing bowed her head.

"Thank you Baixiao." Baixiao bowed, walking away. Ganyu led me up a spiral staircase to the second floor, entering into a doorless room. The white-haired lady from the Rite of Decention stood there, studying a board full of paper. She didn't look away from the board.

"I'm glad you two are here." Lady Ningguang walked to a long desk, sitting down as Kequing and Ganyu bowed. "The matter of Rex Lapis' death is still at hand, as well as that girl that has been killing the Millelith soldiers." I squeaked in fright, Lady Ningguang's piercing red eyes narrowed at Ganyu. Ganyu laughed nervously.

Pulling me out from behind her, Ganyu nudged me slightly in Ningguang's direction. I bowed hesitantly, wincing under Ningguang's gaze. "I am Yaksha Monchou. I am incredibly sorry for the deaths I caused, but I can promise that I never killed Rex Lapis." My lower chin trembled, "I... I would have never killed my... my father." I lowered my head, tears threatening to spill over. Ningguang stood, her hands placed on the wooden desk

"My lady," Kequing said from behind me, "Surely you won't let her go. She's a Yaksha and one that kills people. How do we know she's not being corrupted like the others? My choice would be to lock her up, or even kill her to save the trouble."

Like the others? Did the other Yakshas end up killing people? But the thing that struck a nerve was being locked up. I shook my head, backing away from everyone, my eyes widening in fear.

Ganyu stepped forward, "Lady Ningguang, I think it best not to do that. Besides, she is only an honorary Yaksha, so she is for sure not going crazy. She does not carry that curse. Have you not heard Monchou's story before?" Ningguang nodded slowly, "It's her destiny to kill mortals. Locking her up would do nothing but provoke her." Ningguang closed her eyes in thoughtfulness.

"Okay," Ningguang straightened up, "She will not be locked up. But we still have the matter of all the murders she's done." I sighed in relief, moving back to Ganyu's side.

"If you may, Lady Ningguang," I stepped forward, "Baizhu has found made me a medicine to keep my bloodthirst to a minimum. I only act when I am provoked. Also, Adeptus Xiao has been keeping watch over me, making sure that I stay safe and do not kill unnecessarily. He may even, somehow, be keeping watch on me." I looked down at my clenched hands, bowing low. Maybe I did understand why the Adepti were bowing to Lady Ningguang. She was, certainly for me, very scary.

"I believe you are sincerely sorry, but I must warn you to tread carefully around my soldiers. They are not too happy about all the deaths happening and would love to kill you themselves. We cannot afford to lose one of the last Yakshas, as well as the daughter of Morax."

Last Yakshas? What was going on? Weren't they all alive?

"The last Yakshas?" I blurted out. Kequing rolled her eyes, Ganyu gasped and Ningguang sighed.

"Yes, you and the Adeptus Xiao are the last of the Yakshas," she said dejectedly.

"WHAT!" I shouted, startling everyone. "He never told me," I growled, clenching my hands until my nails bit into my palms. I bowed to everyone and disappeared.

I was so going to kill him.
