Short trip

I fall onto the bed and look up at the ceiling. Should I call the police? I probably should, I mean. I just saw a woman get kidnapped!......What if he saw my face?

God, I really don't need this right now. My breath starts to quicken, and I feel my hands twitch. I heard a jiggle start to play. My head turns over to face my phone, Jason is calling. I take a deep breath, and I pick up the phone. "Hey Jace," my breath a little shakey. "Hey Ma-...you okay?" I respond rather quickly.

"Yes! Yes, I'm fine." I breathe out.

"What's up?"

"Um, are you coming over?"

"Oh,"

I had forgotten all about that.

"My dad isn't home yet, so I never got to ask him."

I think about it, I don't wanna go back out. But I wanna be near someone right now. Jace is my best friend, I...feel safe with him.

"Um, I'll just text him." I start to feel a bit embarrassed, but I swallow my pride. "Can you come and get me? Please?" "Why?" Jason replied. "I'm only like 5 minutes away,"

I sigh.

"Please? I'll tell you when you get here."

There's a pause between us;
Then, finally, one of us spoke.

"Fine," Jason said, "I'll come over." Relief came over me, and I smiled, "Thanks, man, I'll see you soon." I get up from my bed and go downstairs to wait for Jace.

A few minutes later, someone knocks on the door, presumably Jace. I swing open the door, and I see Jace. He looks worried even though I can tell he's trying to hide it.

"Hey," He said "Hi"

I replied uncomfortably

"Sooooo, care to tell me why you needed me to come here?"

I shudder

"Dude, I'm sorry, it's just that." I sigh and look up

"Look at me," Jace says

I snap back

"Okay, let's just walk to your house, and I'll tell you there,"

I look at him with pleading eyes, and Jace takes a deep breath

"Fine, fine." Jace says. I smile at him. "Let's go," he says with uncertainty in his voice.

It's like he wants to be annoyed, but he can't because he doesn't know what's going on, and with what has happened, he just can't be mad.

We begin our short trip to Jason's house. It's silent and a bit tense, I keep glancing over to him till we reach his house.

"You don't have to keep looking at me all weird. We're here,"

I flushed in embarrassment

"Whatever."

Jace turns to me

"Ladies first," he says while smirking

"Screw you." I glared at him gently and walked in.
