"Yes, I did kill him. And I will do it again if the problems with the new members of our pack continue. They should have been already initiated, but this war prevented that," I explain with a hint of a growl.

My eyes lock onto the woman who had yelled put in shock. I remember her as a rogue who joined the last time we held an initiation ceremony.

Her name is Skylar, she was part of the border patrol. I put her there because she is a good fighter, but I needed more security Lycans rather than warriors.

I turn away from the crowd around me and start to walk towards my house. I hear footsteps behind me, and I see Skylar out the corner of my eye.

"Alpha?" I head her say. I keep walking but nod for her to speak.

"How could you just kill him like that?" She asks.

"I'm the Alpha, disrespect is not allowed, and neither is disobedience," I tell her.

"I've never been in a pack before, but I've still never heard of one with an Alpha who kills their own pack members," she says in a confused tone.

"I'm not a normal Alpha, and this is not a normal pack. This pack is of Lycans, a superior form of werewolves. They are much stronger, that means it takes a lot more to break them," I start to explain.

"Why would you need to break them?"

"So I can build them back up again, they way I want. I want them to follow my orders without question, and to trust their pack members fully," I tell her.

"But why did you have to kill him in front of everyone like that?"

"So they understand what will happen to them if they don't do what I want," I say as I reach the house.

"I understand now," she sighs and I walk into the house.

I smell Shade's scent, and another one that is familiar. My eyes widen and I run up the stairs, bursting into Shade's room.

My lips curl into a smile at the sight in her room. A white and gray king cheetah kit is curled up in Shade's arms.

I close the door and walk over to Shade.

"How did she get here?" I ask her.

"May and my mom brought her," she tells me. I stroke her head and tap her nose. She takes my hand in her paws and bites my finger.

"I wonder how the other two are," I think aloud.

"I don't know, but I miss all of them. I wish they could stay here," Shade sighs. An idea pops into my head and I grin.

"They can stay here, we just have to build a place for them to stay!" I laugh.

"We'll train these little guys, and keep them nearby so they'll be safe," Shade says, finishing my thought.

"What's her name?" I ask Shade.

"Velox, where should we keep her for now?" Shade asks me.

"She can stay in our rooms, did you know there is a door between our rooms?" I smile. Shade shakes her head, giving me a funny look.

"Look," I walk into her closet, and at the very back is a door that leads into mine.

"I had no idea that was there," she says, shock in her voice. I just shrug, and my eyes flicker back to the kit.

I suddenly think back to when Blake killed the fourth kit, and my eyes turn red. I feel my canines sharpen, and clench my jaw tight, in an attempt to control my anger.

Suddenly I get another mindlink.

More enemy wolves approaching the border, dozens this time, Derek mindlinks me.

"Shit!" I curse aloud. Shade puts the kit on her bed and turns to me.

"What is it?"

"Enemy wolves coming to the border, several dozen apparently," I growl.

"Let's go."

*************

My fist lands a blow on a wolf's head, and he falls to the ground unconscious. I whip around and knock out another.

Shade beside me has already killed a few, and knocked out several. My warriors are fighting in wolf form all around me.

I let my claws come out and I slash the throats of several. I go behind the preoccupied enemy wolves, and quickly snap their necks.

I see one start to run, and Shade and I chase after him. I run past him, and hold out my arm.

He looks behind him to see Shade, and turns back just in time to watch my arm take him out.

I hit his chest and he flips, landing on his back hard. I pick him up by his throat and growl.

"Why is Blake attacking?" I snarl.

"Because you are a threat, and you have taken many of our wolves," he spits. Mg grip on his neck tightens and I see fear fill his eyes.

"Well you better tell him, that this is one war he is going to lose. Tell him, that I will pick off his pack one by one if I have to. I have done it before, I will do it again," I growl.

He nods quickly and I drop him to the ground. Shade growls at him and he scrambles to get away.

I watch him run off, and turn to Shade.

"We should probably get back to our own territory, don't you think?" She says with a smile.

"Yeah, lets go," I smile back and we run back to the border. We had passed it during our chase, lucky we didn't hit a patrol.

We go back to where the fight was, and do a body count.

"Blake, 13 injured, 29 dead, and two escaped. Our pack, 9 injured, 6 dead, and 1 missing," I count.

"How can we have a missing?" Shade asks.

"I don't know, either they ran, or were captured," I shrug. I help to take the injured and unconscious enemy wolves to the prison, where we put them in the silver cells.

I head back to my house with Shade, and I sit down on the couch.

"Was that true?" She asks me.

"Was what true?"

"About you killing an entire pack, one by one," she says looking at me. I sigh, and nod slowly.

"The Lunar Howlers Pack, I killed them when I was only a teenager. I killed wolves that were by themselves in the woods, broke into houses and killed them. The entire pack gone, in only weeks, and by a single, teenage girl," I sigh.

"Well, that would be one way to get rid of Blake and his pack, but they are a little bit bigger," Shade points out.

"Yeah, I guess I can just kill the ones near the border, and that would present a great opportunity for you," I say with a smile. Her eyebrows scrunch up and she looks at me confused.

"What opportunity?"

"To prove your worth as Alpha."
