Chapter 4

Ahn Aera revealed that the person who was originally tasked with killing Hwa Yeong had received a last-minute mission, so he took it upon himself.

Hwa Yeong responded with shock and disbelief, "You're saying, it was Gyeon Seok?!"

Ahn Aera texted, confirming her suspicions. "Yes, it was him. He asked his best friend, who is his right-hand man, to stab you. He also instructed him to stab you deeper and ensure your demise. And your will... it changed somehow. He is the alpha now, not me. How did you manage to escape? I searched for you everywhere."

Hwa Yeong, still trying to piece together the events, asked, "You mean, how did I get away after getting stabbed?"

Ahn Aera reassured her, "Yes."

Hwa Yeong, her memory hazy, replied, "I don't know."

Determined to get to the bottom of the mystery, Ahn Aera said, "Don't worry, I'm going to find out."

Hwa Yeong shared what little she remembered, "All I know is that, after getting stabbed, I passed out. I think there was something on the knife, like poison, to make sure I die for real."

Ahn Aera immediately got to work, pulling out her laptop and starting to hack. She accessed the party hall's CCTV database and began watching the video footage. What she saw shocked her.

"I saw the CCTV, and a man saved you," Ahn Aera reported. "After some research, I found that he is a guy named Baek Haneul."

Hwa Yeong was amazed by the revelation. "Wow, for real?! No wonder I don't have a big scar. But why was he there?"

Ahn Aera inquired further, "You know him?!"

Hwa Yeong hesitated before responding, "Umm, yes. Actually, I... never mind. Where were you when it happened?"

Ahn Aera disclosed her actions, "I was watching the 'match,' then pretended to go to the 'bathroom,' but I couldn't find you."

Hwa Yeong connected the dots, "Probably because he took me away. Right? How did I end up here, in the hospital?"

Ahn Aera pressed for more details, "Who is 'he'?"

Hwa Yeong answered, "Baek Haneul!"

Ahn Aera probed further, "I know! Who is he to you?"

Hwa Yeong reluctantly revealed, "I know him because I met him through some business stuff."

Ahn Aera couldn't help but tease, "So... he is single?!?! He looks your type... and I'm sure he likes you."

Hwa Yeong, taken aback, responded with a chuckle, "The freak?! It's for business, man! And what made you think he's single?"

Ahn Aera explained her abilities, "You said business partners, but the way he looked at you was different, like he... he liked you."

Hwa Yeong, still skeptical, pointed out, "You said you saw him through the CCTV, right? So how can you see one's expression through it? It's not clear."

Ahn Aera revealed her impressive skills, "My biggest talent is spying and hacking. I made it clearer and saw. I even found a scene that was deleted. Wanna know?"

Hwa Yeong, curious, conceded, "Sure, I guess... you're gonna tell me anyway."

Ahn Aera proceeded to share her discovery, "They took your freaking fingerprint after they 'killed' you. I think it's for the 'will'."

Hwa Yeong realized the gravity of the situation, "Come help me look for them; I need to get out of this place."

Ahn Aera, understanding the urgency, promised, "Where did you hide your will?"

Hwa Yeong insisted, "No, we are going together. Come! Pick me up!!"

Ahn Aera issued a stern warning, "He is onto you; he wants you dead."
