Lyra
The knock on the door brought River and I back to reality.
"You guys up?" Teddy asked.
"Be out soon!" I called back.
"Don't push them away anymore. I was being an ass. You are Sasha's best friend, also Teddy's best friend. You make them happy. Don't let me ruin that."
"Really?"
He rolled his eyes. "I mean it. They won't find out about anything."
"I'll have to tell her eventually. She's my best friend."
"I know."
"I just mean about us hooking up."
River nodded with a small smile. "I'm going to have a quick shower. I'll be out soon."
"You just showered." I raised a brow at him before my eyes fell down his body and found his hard erection pressed against his towel. "Oh."
River squeezed my thigh. "Go eat."
Teddy had made pancakes and had them on the counter when I came out of the bedroom.
"Hey."
"Morning, Ly." He smiled.
"How did you guys sleep?" I sat down at the counter and took my plate from him.
"Good. You?"
"Good."
"You sure you're okay with sharing a bed with River."
"Positive." I took a bite of my pancake after putting syrup on it.
Sasha came from around the corner and hugged me. "Hi."
"Hey."
"I am so excited to go snowboarding." She yawned, sitting next to me. "I'll need coffee though."
"Agreed." I offered her some of my pancakes and she took it.
"This is good."
We spent the next few days skiing and snowboarding, along with the spa.
And on a day when Teddy took Sasha for a date, River brought me to a small bookshop five minutes from us. It was tucked away among the trees, almost unnoticeable.
It was small and old. But the walls were filled with books. From floor to ceiling books stacked on books. Books on top of bookshelves.
I picked out a few books, some classics and some newer romances.
Which River insisted on paying for, and had already given the store his card details before he took me.
"Thank you." I pressed my lips against his cheek, setting my bag of books on the counter. "That was sweet of you."
He sat by the island and watched me unpack the books. Inspecting them each from front to back again.
"A friend invited us to a club on New Years."
"Are we going? How are we able to get in?"
"There's a club here. It's having its first New Year's party. They don't care about our age."
"Sounds fun."
"You should use my card to buy something to wear." His dimples popped as he tried to hide his smile.
Sasha pinned some of my curls back and left some bangs out around my face. "I love when you ask me to do your hair."
"Thank you, Sash." I smiled up at her.
"Let's put your dress on then mine."
I grabbed my gold dress off the hanger and stepped into it, pulling it up my body, putting the top over my head.
The top of the dress was a halter dress and dipped down. It ended a couple inches above my knees.
"You look so hot."
I grinned as the sparkles glimmered in the mirror.
Sasha bought a matching one in silver.
"I'm sad our trip is almost over." She pouted as pulled her dress up. "I...I've been thinking about taking the year off, actually. Maybe travelling and making art around the world."
"Really? I think you should."
"You do?" Her smile quickly spread across her lips. "That means so much to me. My relationship with Teddy is strong enough for long distance and it's something we've talked about too."
"I'd travel with you. If you wanted."
Her eyes lit up. "You would?"
"Yes, of course. I would love to travel for a year."
Sasha wrapped her arms around me. "A year without the boys. Holidays and visits of course."
"Of course."
