Mikey paced the length of his office. His fists set clenching and unclenching repeatedly as he felt the agitation growing with each passing second. He just needed this shitty day to end. He wanted to be back home in his house with the only person in this fucking world that made the darkness that threatened to consume him stay at bay. He was about to punch yet another hole in his office wall when a knock came from his door.
"Enter!" his curt tone resonated through the office room as he stood behind his desk and waited to see who was coming to see him.
"Mikey, I have the reports you wanted me to gather from that deal we closed yesterday. Did you want to go over it now?" Kakuchou, his third in command, asked as he entered the darkened room.
"No, save it for me for another time. I need to go home, I have plans. Tell everyone to leave me the fuck alone if they know what's good for them." Mikey seethed as he stormed past the confused ravenette. Kakuchou simply shook his head and placed the files on top of Mikey's desk and stretched. He might as well get some paperwork done to try to get ahead for tomorrow. So without wasting another second Kakuchou walked back to his office, while sending a text to the executive group chat that any important issues should be directed at him, Mikey's orders.
As the lights of the city faded into the background, Mikey couldn't help but think of wrapping his arms around the one person in the world who made him still feel human. As the scenery began to shift from the bustle of city life, to the soothing countryside, Mikey felt his stress wash away with each second he approached his farm house. Once the crunching of his bike's tires across the gravel driveway filled his ears, the smile that broke across his face reminded him of his youth. How could she cause this sort of reaction from him, when he himself felt as a ghost within the husk of his body? Opening the door of the old farm house, he can't help but smile as the sound of music echoed through the house. Kicking off his boots, and hanging his jacket up on a nearby coat hanger he proceeded to walk deeper into the photo filled halls. With the light pouring in from the open air kitchen his onyx eyes glued themselves to the dancing girl standing in front of the stove. The way her (h/l) (h/c) danced around her as she swayed her thick hips to the beat of the music. Mikey leaned himself against the door frame, just admiring her carefree spirit taking flight in their shared home.
With quiet steps Mikey approached her. Wrapping his rough hands around her waist and leaning his face in the crook of her shoulder he gently placed soft kisses along her exposed neck. He could feel the small wooden box pressing against his thigh as she swayed to the music, her (e/c) orbs still fixed on the task at hand.
"Rough day darling?" Her melodic voice filled the air like a flute singing a sweet symphony. Leaning her cheek against Mikey's, she continued to make the chicken stir fry that she had planned for dinner. It was the only way she could get her picky boyfriend to eat anything remotely healthy.
"Mhm. People are stupid and I just never want to be near any of them, but someone has to run the fucking show." Mikey grumbled as he snuffled his nose into her shoulder. His mind was racing a million miles per hour. How was he going to ask her? Would she even say yes? What would happen if she says no? Will she say no?
"Mikey, I can hear you over thinking. Come back to me, Sano." She coos as she turns off the stove and starts to plate the dinner for them both. As she gently walks over to the counter bar, Mikey still hanging onto her like the grown child he is, she places their food down.
"Don't want to eat." Mikey pouted, puffing his cheeks out making himself look like a toddler as his long layered blonde hair fell into his face.
Turning around in his arms, facing him head on, she lifts her hands up to cup his cheeks. "Manjiro you need to eat. I know you didn't eat any lunch today, and I also know you left this morning without eating breakfast. So whether you like it or not you are eating dinner. Or so help me I will sleep in the guest room." her tone was soft yet firm. Mikey pouted more, he hated when she called him by his full name, it meant she was serious.
