The sounds of the engines roaring down the Tokyo streets filled (Y/n)'s ears. Walking along the sidewalk heading to the shrine for the Toman meeting, they couldn't help but feel a buzzing in their chest with each engine growing louder. A certain lavender haired boy was clouding their mind. (Y/n) had been put under Mitsuya's division since the beginning. Mikey's reasoning for putting his younger cousin with the calm and collected Second Division Captain, because (Y/n) would terrorize anyone else, and probably be the downfall of Toman, unintentionally of course.

(Y/n) had a knack for starting fights, getting into trouble and overall chaos goblin energy, so what the leader believed was the best move was to put them with the most calm, cool and collected guy he knew. Mitsuya was always kind, but could be firm when (Y/n) started acting like a fool. It drove (Y/n) to become sassy and kind of a pain in the lavender haired teen's ass. There were times when Mistuya seriously thought about throwing the chaos gremlin into moving traffic, but then he would see their smile, hear their laugh and it would erase all of the irritation that had built up. It was a daunting realization for the teen, but one he relished as he sat on the wall looking out at the shrine.

Hakkai was chatting and talking to Mitsuya a mile a minute, unaware that his best friend and hero was lost in his mind, the face of (Y/n) consuming all space that was available. For some reason they had buried a hole in his brain and he couldn't get them out.

"Take you okay?" Hakkai asked, breaking his friend from his thoughts.

"Huh? Oh yeah, just uh, thinking. Sorry man." Mitsuya said as he rubbed the back of his neck nervously.

"Daydreaming about me Mitsuya?" (Y/n) called as they finally made their way to the meeting spot.

Mitsuya smiled wide at their appearance. "Nah more like trying to decide if I want to throw you into oncoming traffic or give you a much needed makeover." He quipped back. The (h/c) teen stopped, their heart pounding in their chest. Damn you Takeashi Mitsuya. They thought to themselves as they took their place on Mitsuya's left side, leaning against the wall with arms crossed. Just as they were about to give a snappy comeback Draken called everyone to attention, starting the meeting. Whatever was going on inside (Y/n)'s head would have to wait.

After the meeting:

As everyone started to file out with their orders from Mikey, (Y/n) and Mitsuya hung back, wanting to plan their side of what was to come. The (h/c) teen leaned against the wall with arms crossed, a clear war going on behind those (e/c) orbs. Why did Mitsuya always make their heart rate spike? Why was the one thing they wanted most in the world, his approval, his smile, his touch? Why did that boy have to be so damn cute? CUTE?! (Y/n) screamed in their head. Oh shit, it was all becoming clear now. Clear to them that the reason they always wanted to be with Mitsuya was because they had fallen for him. Not just like a stumble, but like they had taken a running leap off of the peak of Mt. Everest and were free falling to the ground. With a sigh (Y/n) pushed themselves off the wall and began to walk towards the exit, wanting to give their mind a some space to process everything that seemed to cloud it, As the steps crunched under foot (Y/n) was lost in thought, unaware of the one person who held sway over their being, walking right next to them.

"Ya know, if you keep thinking so hard, that tiny brain of yours is gonna explode." Mitsuya teased as he placed a gentle hand on the brooding teen's shoulder.

"GAH!" (y/n) screamed as they were dragged from their thoughts. "Mitsuya! You ass! You scared the shit out of me!"

The lavender haired boy smiled and ruffled the teens hair, joining in step with them. "Geez didn't know you were such a scaredy cat. Thought you were tougher." (Y/n) smiled and leaned into him, looking straight ahead as their thoughts screamed at them to run or yell at Mitsuya. Yet the action that happened shocked both of them. (Y/n) wrapped their arm around Mitsuya's and leaned against him. Both stiffened, the contact unusual, but quickly relaxed as they continued to walk. The two strolled in silence, neither wanting to break the comfort radiating between them. Was this something either was looking for? No, but neither seemed to mind. Maybe now they could move forward, and start something new, or maybe not. Just for now though they will walk in silence and just feel each other's presence.
