Nalowale (Gone)

Kono opened the door to the storage room, which was oddly unlocked. Why hadn't Cath locked the door? A narrow hallway led to another door which I assumed was the actual door to the storage room. The strangest thing of all was the fact that the door was slightly ajar. Kono stopped dead in her tracks suddenly. "What is it?" I whispered, then I heard it too. A soft mumbling sound came from beyond the door. I could hear shuffling around inside. Kono grabbed he gun from its clip on her belt. I followed in suit. She kicked the door, and what we saw was horrible. We saw Cath sitting in the middle of the floor, a gag in her mouth and her hands and legs bound together, but that was all. No Grace, no baseball teams, nothing but poor, crying, tied up Cath. I automatically started thinking of the worst case scenario, as I always do if something happens with Grace. Kono pulled out her pocket knife and cut the duct tape off of Cath's wrists and ankles while I called Steve to let him know what was going on. Once Catherine's hands were untied, she pulled out the gag.
STEVE'S POV:
After Danny and I hung up, Chin and I got to the Southam residence. I knocked once. No answer. I knocked again, and this time I heard the sound of someone crying. I motioned for Chin to move back. I kicked the door in. We searched every room and finally, we came to the last one. A faint cry could be heard from within. I found the door unlocked and opened it. Inside was a girl who looked to be about 16, Sarah, I assumed. Her wrists and ankles were tied and a gag in her mouth, just like Cath. She looked at us with scared eyes and as I got closer, she backed away. I put my gun in the holster and showed her my badge and told her we were there to help. I quickly untied her and pulled out the gag. "Are you Sarah?" I asked. "Y-y-yes," she stuttered. "Can you tell me where your mom is?" I asked her. "H-h-he t-took h-her," Sarah said in a shaky voice. "Who took her?" I asked, hoping she could describe him. "There was a man. He came in to the house earlier, about 7 o'clock, and took my mom. He said, 'I'll be back for you after I get your sister.' I tried to call Chey and tell her but I remembered that she was at her game and now she's probably dead because I didn't fight back," Sarah said. "Well I have good news: your sister is ok. He shot her in the stomach but she's ok. Sadly your brother, Robert, didn't have luck as good as Cheyanne's. Can you describe the man?" I asked her. "I know this sounds absolutely crazy, but it looked like my brother, Sean," Sarah said, rubbing her temples. "He was the one who was shot at the pharmacy, right?" I said. "Yeah. See what happened was my mom wouldn't give him money to buy a house or anything and so he had to live in a homeless shelter because he refused to get a job and refused to live here. He turned to me, Robert, and Chey for money, but we turned him down. Then he got a job at a local pharmacy after a year or 2. And then he was shot last year. Your team actually investigated it," Sarah said. "Is there any possible way that he had a friend who looked like him who could possibly want revenge?" I said, considering all possibilities. "I guess, I mean I really don't know," she replied. "Well if he said he's coming back to get you, then we'll just wait on him," I said. "Chin, call at least 2 officers for backup here and I'll go move out car into the garage so he doesn't know we're here," I tell Chin. I walk out the front door just in time to see a black car pull off. Great. Just great. This case is going to take longer than I thought. I jumped into my truck and raced after the car, but my truck was no match for the black Mustang. I drove back to the house and walked back in and informed Chin of what just happened. I also informed him that we, plus the 2 backup officers, would be taking shifts tonight to stay at the house. I called Danny and told him what had happened.
DANNY'S POV:
Steve and I hung up after he told me of what had just happened. Cath had already told us what happened. She said that a man came in with a gun and said, "You can have them back when the family is dead," and took everyone at gunpoint. She also said that someone kicked him in the face, but she wasn't sure who, and it didn't stop him. I was telling Kono and Catherine what Steve had told me when I heard a shuffling noise. I looked over in the direction of where the noise came from. Did I just see a big blue tote move? Surely not. But then Cath and Kono looked at me. "Did you see it too?" Catherine asked me. "If you mean that the blue tote moved, then yes," I said, creeped out. It moved again and this time the lid started popping up, little by little. We all 3 drew our guns and aimed at the tote. Finally, the lid crashed to the floor. We moved closer. Out of nowhere came a "Hey, Danno!" and Grace's arms around me. Kono, Cath, and I looked at her stunned. "Monkey, I'm so glad you're ok!" I said, wrapping her in my arms. Grace ran up to Kono and Cath and hugged them both. "Are you ok Aunt Catherine?" "Yeah I'm fine, how'd you do that?" Cath answered. "Wait, wait, Aunt Catherine?" I asked, puzzled by the fact that Grace had never called her that before. "Um, oops sorry," Grace said, holding back a grin. "Ok well back to Catherine's original question, how did you get away?" Kono asked, clearly intrigued by the fact that little 12 year old Grace had managed to escape a man with a gun. "I was the one who kicked him. When he was looking around to see who did it I ran and hid in that tote. I'm not the only one who escaped. There's a bunch more out there who are hiding somewhere. He really only ended up with about half of the people that were in here," Grace informed us. "Okay well I'll go find the others," I said walking out of the storage room.
KONO'S POV:
I suddenly remembered that Adam had a tracking device on his phone. I quickly traced it and got a hit. The address of where Adam was was an old abandoned warehouse on Kailua Avenue. I told Cath and then called Steve. A few minutes later, Danny came in with Grover's family, Max, Jerry, Dr. Shaw, and 5 baseball players. We still had Kamekona, Flippa, Adam, and the rest of the baseball teams to save. I told Danny that I'd gotten a location and we made a plan. Danny and Catherine we're going to call for the SWAT team to back them up and they were going to storm the warehouse to save everyone and catch the killer. Meanwhile, I was going to stay here with the escapees.
