Yoongi's POV:
"Wait, what do you mean you're in the hospital, Taeyeon-ah?" I asked as I spoke to her from Paris. "Who's watching Cho-hee?"
"Taeyong is watching her. He agreed to stay overnight with Jungwoo and Haechan," she started and I could hear her take a deep breath before she continued. "I was attacked, Yoongi. The guys who raped me when I was in high school... they found me when I went out to run some errands earlier today."
Rage was flooding through me. I took a deep breath myself.
"I'm coming home," I told her. "You shouldn't be in the hospital alone."
"Don't come home yet, Yoongi. Please," she said. "You only have a few more days to finish this leg of the tour. Please finish it."
"What's to stop them from trying to find and attack you again in the hospital, Taeyeon-ah?"
"I reported the rape, Yoongi. Jaehyun realized a way that might help me identify them and it did. So the police know who attacked me. They'd be stupid to show up here right after I reported them."
"I still don't want you alone."
"I'm not alone, Yoongi," she began and I could tell that she was hesitating. "Jaehyun is the one who brought me to the hospital and he's stayed with me during everything."
The way she hesitated made me curious, but it was the wrong time to address it.
"Is he going to stay with you?"
"Yes, he's the only one I've really spoken to outside of the hospital staff before I called you. He knows the shape I'm in, physically and mentally, and agreed to stay."
I still wasn't happy. Giving in, I sighed.
"Fine, Taeyeon-ah. I don't want to make this worse for you, so I'll finish this leg of the tour," I started. "Does your brother or any of the others in BTS know this happened? Are you going to tell them?"
"No, they don't know yet. I was going to call them to tell them tomorrow."
"How bad are you... honestly, Taeyeon-ah?"
She took a minute before she said anything.
"Bad enough that Dr. Lim is keeping me overnight and is already arranging home nurses to help me until we can hire help for Cho-hee. He said it will be at least a few days before I can even try to take care of Cho-hee on my own," she started hesitantly. "When Jaehyun got to me, he told me he's never seen me in such bad shape, Yoongi. It's pretty bad."
I wanted to go home, see her and how bad she was, and take care of my family. But I also knew she was right. There were days until the tour finished. I'd be home in four days, two of which were the concerts, the rest was traveling back home. Not to mention, if I ran off every tour because of an issue with Taeyeon, the managers and ARMY would start harassing me about putting her above my career. I was just worried that unlike most things, where she tells me and then will call the others right away, with her calling them tomorrow that they will notice something is wrong with my mood and start bugging her for answers.
"Taeyeon, I'm worried about you and Cho-hee."
"You should be, Yoongi. I volunteered Cho-hee's hair for DNA testing to prove which of those bastards is her father so we can not only press charges, but make sure that neither they nor their families can try to take her away from us. Dr. Lim thinks that starting with Japan, Cho-hee and I should start traveling with you guys unless I need to be in Seoul for the case, and that I need round the clock nannies for Cho-hee."
"What do you mean you volunteered Cho-hee's hair? Isn't that something you should have discussed with me before you did that? She's my daughter, too."
"I will never doubt that you are Cho-hee's father, Min Yoongi. It's just, after today, I need to do this to make sure both Cho-hee and I are safe against these guys. I know that until everything is resolved we're in more danger, but I need to do this to try to keep us safe... I'm scared all the time, Yoongi. Even if I don't say it... the fear has always been beneath the surface since they did this to me the first time. I can't live my life like this. And I won't allow our daughter to do it, either. So please, understand why I had to do this before I spoke to you."
