chapter 4: roses in the lilac waters

Rosamary, stargazer and violet secretly went to the old church library but was sabotaged by a calluna spy but somehow got help from a calluna immigrant by the name of lilac.

              •○let's begin the story.○•

I started to pack my things from my room and head off out into the sun illuminated hallway. "Rosamary," Madonna called out my name, I turned around to face her, but she seemed disappointed. "Y-yes?" I stuttered, madonna asked strictly as if she was my mom, "did you go to the old church library?" I choked on my words and tried to decide whether to lie or tell the truth. Tauntingly and sarcastically, she said, "A little birdie told me you, violet and stargazer went there and got your ass beat." I gulped nervously and avert my eyes. Madonna sighed, "y'know you could've taken me with you. Even though I did say it was off-limits..."Why is it off limits?" I asked.

Madonna answered, "A man by the name of hypericum was my friend who is also your gunsmith's husband at the time, and he was a mad man, he abandoned calla due to her being infertile since he wanted children so he also built the church but bad things would always happen and it involved people dying, hypericum didn't want to handle the criticism so he created the library saint and left the country to steal books, he's so despicable..." She ended bitterly. "Wow, I'm lucky no one died. But who told you?" I asked, "Oh, lilac, I think she likes you but is kinda overprotective, I'm pretty sure she wants to help you but in her own ways so she might be difficult to talk to.. also, that map is fake." Blatantly, Madonna said. I asked, dumbfounded and confused, "why the heck would she lie?" She probably doesn't want you to risk your life or something..." Madonna said as if she was unsure. Madonna later tasked me to find Lilac before I go and say goodbye to everyone, and with that, Violet and I left the mansion. We later found Lilac at a lake, and I confronted her, "Hey, why did you give me a fake map?" Lilac turned around, "you really spent your time studying it only to find out it was fake, that's dumb, but I'm really gonna say this, I prefer you leave the professionals to find you sister." I bit my lip,"the professionals," I quote, "won't do anything about it." Do you really think you could do this? I've seen you die almost two times." She said.

"I-" I shouted but paused and thought, "How did you know that..?" I asked. "I'm madame madonna's top student, I am more experienced than you, and if you almost died two times already, you won't make it to the outside, and you'll die out there alone." Lilac revealed. I argued back, "Well, I'm not alone because Violet is with me!" Lilac asked, "What if you die? You can't protect violet." I got mad, but Violet pat my shoulder gently and shook her head. "I don't think you're worth it to go out on your own independently. You're weak, after all." Lilac mocked me, "but since you're weak, I can't help but pity you, so I will help you, but in my own way. You'll just sit back and relax." Stop looking down on me." I replied. "Just because you're her top student and that I died two times doesn't mean I have to put all my hard work to waste, seriously its.. kinda disrespectful!" I argued.

"Oh? you want my respect? Then earn it." She replied, opposed, I took it as a challenge. Lilac then paused, "Wait, you can't fight me in the water in that dress.." Huh?" I mumbled. "Go wear a swimsuit, I wanna see if you can fight me underwater." Lilac said, and I had to go change into my casual wear alone in the forest to come back to her, In the lake. We both jumped into the water, but to find her two legs turned into one, a scaley fish tail that shimmers and shines in the light that rays from the underwater surface, small Lilac flowers bloomed all over her tail. "Surprised?" She asked, I held my breath underwater and got steady.

I blasted off to swim towards her, and she sent her attacks on me. I dodge every single one of them, "Wow, you really know how to dodge!" She said. I tried to attack her back, but she dodged all of my attempts left and right. I tried kicking her, but she grabbed my ankle and threw me on the floor of the lake. She charged at me and punched me in the stomach, chest, and face until I leaned my head to the right to dodge her punch coming to my head and got up to push her away.
