Chapter 31 (Part 2)

"We're having a boy."

Camila looked around the table filled with family members and friends, met with excited smiles and a few pairs of wide eyes in response to her announcement.

"...and a girl."

"Wait what?" Ally asked from across the table. "Twins?!"

Camila nodded in response, turning to glance at Lauren's whose expression had gone from one of confidence to one of confusion and maybe a little bit of fear. They both relaxed a bit when Lauren reached for her hand underneath the table.

"Holy shit!" Dinah exclaimed.

"That's a bad one!" Laney chimed in as she looked in Lauren's direction, referring to the use of the swear word.

"Sorry," Dinah laughed. "But wow, congratulations."

"Two babies," Sinu started. "That's a lot of work."

"Well they'll have a lot of help," Lauren's mom, Clara, promised. Everyone around the table nodded in agreement.

Camila turned to Lauren again, looking to gauge her reaction. She had clearly still managed to surprise the woman.

"Twins," Lauren mouthed in disbelief.

"They found a second heartbeat today at my ultrasound," Camila whispered. "Surprise?"

"Yeah," Lauren chuckled, nodding as she reached for her wine glass. "Surprise."

"Should we wake them up?" Lauren asked.

Everyone had now gone home except Dinah, who had a little bit too much wine at dinner. She and Normani were now passed out on the couch, her head on the dark-haired woman's shoulder, with Avery and Laney in their laps.

"No, let them sleep," Camila smiled. "They look cute. Well, minus the drool in the corner of Dinah's mouth."

Lauren had to slap a hand over her mouth to muffle her laughter as she moved across the room to pick a blanket off of the back of a chair. She laid it across the four women before finding Camila's hand and pulling her up the stairs.

"Tired?" Camila questioned as Lauren immediately collapsed onto their bed.

"Exhausted," Lauren groaned. "It's been a pretty crazy day."

"How are you feeling?" Camila asked as she stripped off her dress. "You know, about the twins."

"Twins," Lauren repeated, shaking her head slightly with a small smile spread across her lips. "I can't believe it. I mean, I thought you looked a little big but-"

"You did not just say that to me," Camila gaped from where she was standing, now just in her bra and underwear. She immediately reached into the closet to retrieve a sweatshirt that she quickly pulled over her body.

"Babe," Lauren chuckled.

"You really know how to make someone feel the complete opposite of sexy," Camila mumbled as she walked into the bathroom.

Lauren hopped off of the bed to follow her only to find a door being shut in her face.

"Please open the door," Lauren begged as she rested her back against it, a small smile still tracing her lips. "I didn't mean anything bad by it, Camz."

Lauren did feel bad though, as she hadn't been completely blind to the way Camila seemed to have been feeling a little insecure with her changing body. It was the reason why she hadn't pushed things between them, no matter how bad she wanted it. She didn't want Camila to feel uncomfortable.
