"Hold on tight and don't let go!" Hunter says and looks back at you over his shoulder.

"No worries," you tell him. "I won't let go."

Hunter nods one last time, turns his head around again, and braces himself before pushing forward.

A second later, you feel the wooden sled you're sitting on starting to glide faster and faster with every second.

At first, you're a bit scared. You haven't really been on a sled since your childhood, and the feeling of just sitting on wooden runners without any safety measures wasn't that pleasant.

You close your eyes tightly and press your face into Hunter's neck, holding on to him for dear life.

Even though there are some other people, everything seems quiet, and you're only able to hear the sled glide through the soft snow.

The quiet brings some peace, and you start to relax a bit. Just enough to feel Hunter's warmth in front of you, the cold wind against your face, and your hair fluttering in the wind.

Slowly, you open your eyes again, able to see the snowy trees passing by. Your fear changes into joy, and suddenly, you start to giggle behind Hunter.

You forgot how much fun sledding can be, and to do it now, reliving childhood memories together with Hunter, just seems right.

Enjoying every part of the ride and not thinking about everything bad that could happen, you don't notice him tensing.

In one moment, everything is great. The next Hunter calls, "Urgh, brace yourself!" and you're flying.

A startled scream escapes your lips, and the next moment, you're hitting the ground.

Luckily, the snow feathers your fall a little bit, but it still hurts. And Hunter, who crashes into you a moment later, doesn't help with that.

The air is pressed out of your lungs, and you have to take a few seconds to calm yourself a little bit before you're able to take your next breath.

"What happened?" you ask worried, holding your head up and looking at Hunter, who slowly starts to sit up again.

"I think some of the kids built a ramp. Saw it too late, I'm sorry," he explains, helping you up.

"Well, that explains the flying," you giggle and tap off the snow from your clothes.

"Are you okay?" he asks worried, and looks you over with gentle eyes.

"Yes, of course. Just realizing that we're getting old. A little ramp made us fall. And we're shocked about that," you explain, chuckling lightly.

Sure, it was unexpected, but your younger self still would have mastered the stunt better and not ended up face-planting in the snow. "Did you hurt yourself?"

"No, I'm fine, too. Just didn't expect that. Also, I think I would have face-planted in every other situation. Even as a kid," Hunter looks at you with raised eyebrows, a small smile tugging on his lips.

You could perfectly imagine Hunter as a child, playing in the snow with his brothers. Even the fall seems very accurate.

Looking over the scene, you notice that you still have a long way to go before reaching the foot of the mountain. The ride wasn't over yet.

"Now, I'll be the driver. Come on! I'll show you how you don't fall!" you call out excitedly, walking over to the sled that was stuck in the snow a few meters away.

Happy, you jump on the sled, with Hunter taking a seat behind you.

"Hold on tight!" you repeat his words. Chuckling, Hunter obeys and throws his arms around your body, crossing them over your tummy.

He settles his face on your shoulder, his long hair tickling your cheek.

"Can we?" you ask, excited.

"Ready when you are," he answers.

A moment later, you two are sliding down the mountain again, giggling and laughing, feeling several years younger.
