Palm trees, Beaches, Hot weather, Sunlight, Celebrities, and Sports cars, is all I could describe when arriving in the state of California more specifically the city San Diego. I was brought here by my parents as a surprise trip for my 15th birthday, where to?

Why... to one of the biggest gaming conventions in San Diego called Play by the beach gaming convention at the San Diego convention center. After being surprised. My mom and dad bought V.I.P tickets for me, and them to go there, I was excited as I wanted to go to one, since I've dreamed of one day working in the games industry or heck, even starting up my own game company.

However, what really got me hyped was hearing that some well known game designers were in attendance and planning to do signings, that gave me a chance to meet some of my heroes and plus try out some old and brand new games in the meantime. Anyways, I sat in the backseat of an Audi my parents rented for the trip heading to the very place. I was playing House of the Dead: Remake on my Nintendo switch while my mom was talking to my dad about where to find the convention. "You know where you're going right?" My Mom asked my father who was paying attention to the road before answering her back.

"I do. Am I going the wrong way?" My father asked in a relaxed tone. "No, I've just noticed you haven't looked at the GPS the whole way here" My mom answered to which he just shrugged before turning to tell her. "Eh, GPS's are overrated anyways. It's all about the direction signs in front of me, Dear" My father joked and then looked at the road again, while he saw a sign to the right that said parking lot to the convention center was on the right.

"Speak of the devil." He commented, slowing the car down, and turning into the parking building. He paid for a parking pass, and parked the car on the 3rd floor of the building. After putting the car in park, and turning it off he then looked in his rearview mirror seeing me playing on my switch. "Cody, We have arrived." I heard him say to me as I looked at him through the mirror, He and My mother could tell I was happy.

A few minutes later...

Walking into the convention building, there were crowds of gamers and cosplayers that came far and wide, waiting patiently for the front doors to be opened and the convention to be officially opened. While I stood with my parents I seen a male cosplayer next to my dad, in costume to look like the character named N. I think I remembered, the character he's dressed as is from Murder Drones... I think. "OI, Attention please!" I then reverted out of my train of thought when I heard straight ahead a security guard on a megaphone calling out to everyone in the crowd to pay attention to him.

"The name is Martin and It is with great pleasure for ya to be here today for another year of this wonderful gaming convention... Before we officially open are doors I just want to make sure to all of you to please respect each other and the game designers in attendance. We are taking fighting, vandalizing, and stealing very seriously so please do not do any of that or we will not hesitate to kick you out from the festivities, do I make myself clear?" The security guard announced and asked everybody in an Irish accent, I now knew his name was Martin as I nodded along with my parents and everyone else as a woman in a gray suit came over and whispered into the security guard's ear.

"Oh... Ok got it," He said to the woman before turning to speak to us. "Alright everyone the doors are now officially opened!" He announced to the crowd while moving out of the way to let the other security guards open up the main doors as everyone including me and my parents moved slowly into the doors and inside the convention.

Finally getting out of the crowd along with my mom and dad, I stood while glancing around at the convention. It was insane, having multiple panels of video games each being of a different genre with the developers of each game sitting inside their booths signing posters people bring over to them. "Come on son. Let's head to our lounge" My Dad called out to me as I looked to my left and saw my parents walking away to which I immediately followed.
