LACROSSE PRACTICE
I go to lacrosse for the first time, since I'm not on the team they give a group of kids stuff to help the team with and I definitely chose water duty so I could sit on the bench to observe Scott.
Coach was actually quite hilarious, watching Scott absolutely embarrass himself on the field was insanely entertaining. There goes our idea that Scott might be a werewolf. He had done the worst play and he kept falling and not catching the ball- like at all.
"My-my grandmother can move faster than that-- and she's dead! You think you can move faster than the lifeless corpse of my dead grandmother?" Coach yells and I see Stiles on the field laughing.
"Bilinski you're doing worse get on the bench and stop laughing."
"Coach cmon." He frowns.
"Now!" He yells and Stiles rushes over to me.
"Yeah i got benched because I was too good." He places his arm on top of the water jug and leans on it.
"I saw that." I grab a plastic cup and fill it with water before handing it to him.
"For the best player on the team."
"MCCALL YES MCCALL." We turn our attention back to the practice and-
"Holy shit?" Stiles looked just as shocked as me.
Everyone one by one tried throwing the ball into the net and Scott caught all of them; even doing a little jump flip to catch one.
"Would this fall into werewolf abilities?" I question.
"He couldn't walk longer than like five minutes without having an asthma attack, he definitely wouldn't normally be able to do fucking gymnastics on the field."
"Well then I guess you have to come over tonight."
"How does that- yeah you've convinced me."
A player ran towards us and Stiles had a cup of water ready.
"It's the full moon, you should even sleep over."
"Yeah I mean it's a safety precaution." He smirked.
-
"Stiles this is a family night." Melissa held the door slightly open.
Stiles has taken Scott home but after I tutored Melissa picked me up.
"I invited him." I ran up to the front door and open it wider.
"Oh."
I grab Stiles' arm and rush him towards my room.
"Okay hey take me to dinner first." He turns around as we get into my room, I close the door behind me.
"He's had an attitude all day. It's kind of scary." I whisper, holding the door closed because unfortunately Melissa doesn't believe in locks in this house.
"Is he wolfing out?" He whispers back, stepping closer to me.
I tilt my head up a little more to make eye contact with the him.
"He might be doing that." I nodded.
"I keep a bat here, I will definitely use it if needed."
"Ah my protecter." I sarcastically gasp.
"Hold the door." I push him towards the door as I walk over to under my bed.
"Why am I holding the door?" He grabs the knob and leans into the door.
"The locks don't work."
I pull out a duffel bag and unzip it. I take out the nice and pretty monkshood flowers.
I put my finger on my lips as I see his eyes widen.
"Where did you get that!" He quickly takes my new chair from my new desk and wedges it under the doorknob.
"Melissa said we could do whatever so I bought some for current use and then I planted some in the back for you know later use."
He kneels into the floor with me and takes one out of my hand. We jump a little at the sound of knocking on my door.
"Hey hun, I know Stiles is kinda always here but I don't really feel comfortable with you guys in the room with the door closed." Melissa calls out.
Stiles puts the flowers back into the bag and slides it back under as I walked over to the door and opened it.
"Sorry." I smiled.
"Just talking about lacrosse practice." He smiles, walking out of my room past Melissa.
"Where's Scott? I should probably say hi." Stiles ignores Melissa's look and heads straight into Scott's room.
"He's an idiot." Melissa turns to me before walking back to the living room where we were watching Star Wars The Phantom Menace.
She is trying so hard to even seem interested in the movie but I can tell she's waiting for it to be over.
I sat with her again, making sure to leave space beside me in case Scott or Stiles joins.
"We were talking about Scott and Allison." I lied so that she could feel less suspicious.
"Yes Scott's lady friend, is she nice?"
"Super they seem really happy." I nod before pressing play on the movie.
The walls were super thin so when we heard Scott yell something and a huge thud, I was concerned.
"I'm gonna go and see-" I didn't finish and just rushed to his room, walking straight in.
"You almost killed me!" Stiles loudly whispered.
Scott turns to me his eyes glowing yellow.
"Scott what the fuck!" I close the door behind me and my eyes make their way to his gaming chair that has deep claw marks on it.
"Holy shit you're a werewolf."
I don't know what I was thinking but I didn't actually believe he'd be a werewolf? I mean they're not real? Scott burrows his head into his hands and starts to take deep breaths.
"See I told him he couldn't see Allison tonight because he can't control his anger and also isn't he supposed to turn into a big scary wolf?" We were talking quietly it was strange to have Melissa in the house this long, and I feel bad that we kind of don't really know what to do when she's here.
"I'm going to go see my girlfriend, I am fine and I'm not a werewolf I'm just-"
"What? Going through puberty? Are you kidding me?" Stiles smacks his head and Scott looks up at him angrily making Stiles flinch back.
"My bad." Stiles' voice trails off.
"I'll be back, just cover for me." Scott opens his window and crawls out, we watch him jump out and hit the ground perfectly on his feet.
"Shit. Now I'm stuck with Melissa." I groan.
"Okay I have a plan." He nods, pacing around the room.
"Finish the movie, I'll walk out say I need to go then I'll come back in and pretend to be Scott in his bed and sleep. We have to do this because Melissa likes to peak through the door and say goodnight and all that." He explains.
-
And that's what we absolutely did. Melissa had been half asleep the rest of the movie so she didn't even go to Scott's, she just immediately went to bed. I can hear her heavy snoring radiating from her room. It's eleven pm and this is probably the latest she has gone to sleep in forever. I turn the tv off and I clean up the empty Wendy's bags on the counter, throwing them away. I turn off the kitchen light and then the living room light before heading to Scott's room.
I quietly creak the door open, and see Stiles wrapped in a blanket burrito head to toe.
"Hey, she's asleep as fuck." I say in a low tone.
"Nice." He rolls over a bit to unwrap himself from the blanket.
"You going home?" I ask sitting beside him on the bed.
"Do you want me to go home?" He scratches the back of his head.
"No not really."
