Wei wuxian was the only child to wei changze and cangse sanren when he was five years old his parents died during a night hunt which left him homeless. Wei Ying was then introduced to the oldest child of the family jiang yanli who also wanted to love and protect the little boy he then met jiang cheng who seemed to be younger than him. At first jiang cheng was happy to have a older brother but when he heard his parents had to give away his dogs he became sad and angry he even tried kicking wei Ying out at night which led to him and his shijie leaving home to find the scared little wei wuxian and when yanli explain to cheng why they had to get rid of the dogs he felt guilty for hurting his new brother so he apologize and promised to never let any dogs scare his gege. Wei wuxian became the top diciple in lotus pier with the help of his uncle fengmain who taught him everything about the cultivation world and even gave him his first sword which wei Ying named suibian. Whenever he would learn anything new he would help teach his shidi and other diciples making madam yu and her husband very proud of their children.
At the age of fifteen wei wuxian was accepted to study at cloud recess together with his siblings for a year so that they can learn new ways to cultivate. At first wei Ying was a little scared going to a new place but madam yu reassured him that everything will be alright and if he feels home sick he can always return home.
At the age of sixteen he married his lover and they lived in cloud recess. At the age of seventeen he lost his adopted parents and became the yilling patriarch who was pregnant with his husband child .
