Peaceful nights still feel new. All the chaos with the elderbrain and mindflayers had its impact and Tav has spent months trying to get used to the calmness that she can now enjoy. Well, it is as calm as it can get in a mansion shared by all the interesting personalities Tav was so lucky to meet. As a reward for saving the city, her and her companions were gifted a residence with a new job as protectors of Baldur's Gate. It is a beautiful home, but the job has been very uneventful in this new-found era of peace.

On this particular night, all of the group has decided to have a small party among themselves. Over the past couple months, Tav has gotten the sense that her companions are also not entirely comfortable with the leisure they have been afforded. Restlessness is very apparent within the residence, and she assumes this party is to rid the atmosphere of that unsettling calmness.

Gale has taken over the kitchen to cook an extravagant meal for everyone to eat together. He is focused and zipping around the kitchen while constantly dodging Karlach who always seems to be right behind him, peering over at the delicious smelling food he is preparing. Tav laughs at the sight before turning her attention to Halsin, Jaheira, and Wyll who seem to be in the middle of a very interesting conversation among themselves. Then she notices Shadowheart entering the room, arms full of various alcoholic beverages that Tav knows will be gone by the end of the night.

"What has your attention captured so intensely?" Tav hears whispered into her ear from behind her, startling and causing her to jump as she loses the deep focus that she was in. She turns to see Astarion, smirking at her surprised reaction.

Taking a deep breath and regaining her composure before responding, she replies "I was just thinking about how pleasant everything is. Everything is calm, and I feel very lucky to be able to enjoy that with everyone here."

As she finishes speaking, she remember that dinner is almost ready. Tav hates the idea of everyone enjoying the food, and Astarion sitting there hungry. She quickly grabs his hand and drags him to his room. He allows her to pull him along, despite his confusion with the suddenness of her movements.

"Care to tell me what is going on?" He asks, sounding slightly alert due to the urgency of her actions.

Tav begins to realize that she may have overreacted, and she feels the need to decrease the tension that has now formed. "Sorry! Nothing crazy is happening!" She says to calm the situation down, before continuing her explanation. "I just... I don't want you to be hungry at dinner." She says bashfully as a slight blush forms over her cheeks due to the embarrassment for showing how much she cares.

"Hells, I thought something was wrong. You could have just told me that before." He responds, ignoring her embarrassment as to not make her feel worse. Tav is thankful he didn't tease her, but she thinks it is only because he wouldn't taunt the person that was about to feed him.

Tav searches his room for a cup that she is sure he would have lying around. She finds a delicately decorated chalice, which would work for this purpose. She then makes her way over to his bed and begins to search under it.

"Why are you searching through my stuff? If you need something then just ask for it instead of going through my private belongings!" He says frantically. They both have grown very close, and he is likely giving her a hard time despite not caring very much. Ignoring his plea and continuing her search, she finds what she was looking for.

She pulled out a dagger from under the bed, knowing he would likely hide one there. He looks confused at how she knew that would be there. "Knowing you, I just assumed there would be a dagger there. Luckily, I was right." She explains as he clicks his tongue, likely annoyed with how she could read him so well.
