Infernal Passions

Epilogue - 10 years later

"MOMMY! MOMMY! MOMMY!" Lizzy yelled, running up to Lili breathlessly. "Look what Auntie Beth and Uncle Copia brought me!" She holds up a giant gummy snake for her to see. "Isn't this cool?!"

"Beth, a three foot gummy snake? That's way too much sugar for a nine year old! Wait til Alberto is older. Payback will be mine!" She laughed.

"Oh, relax. It's Halloween. So what if she doesn't sleep til next year?" Beth said.

Lili watched the chaos unfold around her. Lizzy was a fiery preteen. She had her father's black hair and green eyes. She was stunningly beautiful. Little Roberto had just turned six and was a duplicate of Terzo. He was shyer than Lizzy, preferring looking at his books rather than rough housing. He was just like her in that sense.

Beth and Copia ended up falling in love and getting married. They were polar opposites. Copia was quiet, Beth was loud, and they absolutely adored each other. Their son, Alberto, had just turned one and was beyond adorable.

And Terzo? They were celebrating their ten year anniversary tonight. Beth, Copia, Kali, and Loki (who were still together) were taking the kids out treat or treating so they could spend the evening together. She smiled as she silently listened to the chatter. This is all she had ever dreamed of.

"DADDY!!" Lizzy ran full throttle at Terzo when he walked in. She was a Daddy's girl in the truest sense.

"Hi, sweetheart! Let me see your costume! What are you?" He asked.

"I'm a roadkill zombie bunny!" She said excitedly.

"Wow! That's awesome!" He looked at Lili, alarmed. She just shrugged her shoulders and laughed.

"Where's my Roberto?" Terzo asked, pretending to look for him.

"I'm a ghost, Daddy! BOO!" He yelled.

"Where? I don't see you! Oh, there you are!" He said, scooping him up in a hug. Roberto quickly squirmed away, joining his sister with the family.

"Hi babe." Terzo leaned down, giving Lili a kiss. "I see you got the flowers I sent you."

"Did you forget what I liked? There's so many!" She exclaimed happily.

"No. I couldn't decide. So I got them all." He said sheepishly. "Anyhow, you're worth every last one of them."

"Thank you. They're beautiful. All of them." She laughed.

Beth broke away from the kids and came over. "I can't believe it's been ten years already. Seems like yesterday we had that talk at your desk, Lili."

"What talk, Lili?" Terzo asked, intrigued.

"Oh, nothing." She could feel herself pinking up.

"She told me she had fucked Satan himself and it was the best sex she'd ever had in her life!" Beth whispered, grinning at Lili.

"BETH! Do you forget ANYTHING?!" She went from pink to crimson red.

Terzo laughed loudly. "Well, she wasn't wrong.  If you recall, when you broke my heart, I made it pour for three days straight."

"And flooded the city!" Beth exclaimed. "I remember that!"

Copia joined them, putting his arm around Beth. "What's all the ruckus? What are you guys up to?"

"Just embarrassing Lili as I always do." Beth laughed.  "So what are you guys gonna do when we're out trick or treating?"

"Maybe Satan will try and outdo himself from that first night." He gave Lili a smoldering stare, which made her blush...AGAIN.

"Ooooooh! Let's get these kids out of here, Copia!" Beth said, pulling him away.

They said their goodbyes and be carefuls to everyone. For the first time all day the house was quiet.

"So." Lili said, almost shyly, not feeling like she had just spent the last decade of her life with this man.

"Would you like to dance? I hear there's a party going on in the living room." Terzo asked with a mischievous smile.

"Isn't that what got us here in the first place?"

"Mm hmm." He said, taking her hand.

"So the big question, do you want to dance or sway?" Terzo asked.

"I'll let you decide. How do you feel?"

"Fair enough." He went over to the stereo, clicked a few times and found their song.

They stood slow dancing in the darkened living room, the only light was the fire from the fireplace. Lili thought back to their life together, their chance meeting and how much things had changed. She loved him more now than she ever did. It seemed to grow and evolve daily.  She pressed her head against his chest, sighing as she listened to the strong beat of his heart.

Terzo held her close, marveling how well they fit together. He stroked her hair as the song played, completely overcome with emotion.  He still couldn't understand how someone as beautiful as her could love him. He heard her sigh and felt the warmth of her body against his. He lifted her chin to look at him, her eyes glazed with unshed tears.

"My Lilith Rose.  To this day I will never understand what I did to deserve your love.  You have given me everything I never knew I needed. Two beautiful children and a home. You complete me Lili. I love you doesn't seem to be strong enough to explain how I feel. Happy anniversary babe. I look forward to many, many more."

He leans down, capturing her lips in a kiss before she can say anything. 

Lili laid down in front of the fireplace, beckoning Terzo to join her.  He kissed her, then pulled back to say something.  She placed her finger over his lips.

"No Terzo."  she said firmly. 

She pulled him down on top of her, their legs entwined.  He reached behind her, gently removing her hairband, letting her red hair fall loosely over her shoulders.

"You're still as beautiful as the day I met you." he murmured.

He explored every inch of her body, as if he had never seen her before. As he made love to her that night, time stood still. The look in her eyes told him everything. She was still as crazy about him as he was for her. Their love was one that had defied logic and time.

Afterward, they snuggled up together on the rug, side by side.  Terzo gently stroked her face, smiling.

"How did we get so lucky, Terzo?  One wrong address, one crazy dance...one crazy night." She bit her bottom lip, giggling. "The challenges we had at the start... every last bit was worth it.  I couldn't do this crazy life without you.  I love you so much Terzo...you truly complete me.  Happy anniversary, babe." She whispered, kissing him tenderly.  

"Ti amo, mia bellissima moglie. Felice anniversario." He whispered through tears.

Lili cocked her head, not understanding what he said.

"I love you, my beautiful wife. Happy anniversary." He said, kissing her. "You are mine forever."

All was right in their world.  In his arms was where she belonged.  Her shelter, her safety, her eternal love.  Their hearts, now and forever, would beat as one.
