The Means of Being Human
On a blank canvas,
we draw what we long to see
and erase all our faults.Blank Canvas
You are not your past.
The future is always ahead.
What will you create?————————
(January 2021.)
These two are interconnected, and thus meant to be formatted side-by-side. Since I cannot replicate that on this app, I have combined them into one chapter.
"The Means of Being Human" and "Blank Canvas" are related in the fact that they both ask the reader what could be done with the nature of their existence; that is why I believe that they should intrinsically exist with one another. These two poems discuss the idea of molding oneself to whatever one wishes to be and how people, specifically, can be blindsided by the desire to shape themselves into as perfect a canvas as possible.
And as I write, I have come to realize that I like explaining my poems, so if you are ever curious about my thought process behind one of them, please don't be hesitant to ask!
