Percy's pov
Percy fell limp. Sure he was awake but he couldn't bring himself to move. He was so sad and angry and he had emotions he didn't know he had. He had just been reunited with Annabeth and then he fell and his friends didn't do anything to help him.
Ok Percy knew they probably tried but he was salty and needed something to be mad at. While he fell he tried to think of a plan. He got nowhere so he decided to think. He thought about anything but Tartarus. He thought about Annabeth. The way she laughed at everything dumb thing he did. The way her long blond hair bounced with every confident step she took. He thought about the way she always to danced to the songs he write. He didn't tell many people he wrote songs.
In fact he wasn't sure if anyone but her and his mom knew. Sure Leo or Jason had walked in on them listening to the songs once or twice but they had convinced them that they were someone else's songs. And even though they didn't believe them they dropped the subject. He also thought about something he hadn't thought about in years. He thought about his childhood. Specifically his mom. Why he thought about her he didn't know. Maybe somewhere in the back of his mind he thought about torture.
And with torture came his mom. People asked Percy why he had always taken the role of hero. Percy never answered the question. Mostly because he didn't know how. Partly because he didn't want to. He had never told anyone this but sally wasn't his real mom. She was a friend of family who took pity of Percy.
Percy hadn't had steak in years. Why? Because his biological mother choked on it in front of him. Percy had always felt like it was his fault. He had made his mom laugh that night. She laughed so hard the big piece of steak she was eating slipped down her throat and... never came back. He started to sob. He didn't want to but he felt bad. For himself and his mom. He knew he was torturing Annabeth to.That mad him cry harder. Then something happened. The cavern opened and he could see.
He couldn't see much but it was still a improvement. He decided too close his eyes and listen. He heard what sounded like water flowing. He closed his eyes and sensed the water was about two-hundred fifty seven and three fourths away from him. That gave him about fifteen seconds to think of a plan. His brain of course didn't work so he just closed his eyes and prayed to all the gods. Then he hit water.
It was excruciatingly cold and he couldn't breathe. He heard voices saying "You're going to die here anyway why don't you just die now?" He almost gave in when he thought of Annabeth. He thought of the prophecy and his friends. With a defiant shout he felt a tug in his stomach and felt the water wrap around him. Then he made the water throw him on the shore. When he landed he cried out in pain for the shote was made of sharp glass.
He lay there for a while numb and tired but he was alive. And he could be fine with that for the moment. Then he heard a hissing. He drew riptide and stood up. He looked around and saw a creature. He realized after a second in Archnae . He got mad thinking about all the pain she put Annabeth through. His vision turned red and the next thing he knew he was standing on yellow dust. This disturbed him but he didn't really think about it.
He had bigger problems to think about. He started walking not sure where he was going. His vision was blurry and his legs were sore. His hands were blistered and he was in pain. Even though Tartarus was hot he still couldn't shake the chill of the river. He was tired and hungry and just not in a got shaped. He was beat ip didn't remember any of the stories Annabeth of Tartarus. All he could remember was that they had pain torture and death. That was from the gods. People who had fallen had never made it back.
Stop, he chided himself. You are not going to get out of here with those thoughts. He just kept walking till he came to a cliff. He knew he shouldn't but he decided to climb down it. Halfway down he needed a break, he stop on a nearby ledge. He was weak and needed water. He saw a stream next to him and decided to chance it. He closed his eyes cupped his hands and frank. At first nothing happened so he drank more and more and more. He drank until he couldn't hold any more water in his stomach.
Then he felt woozy and started to shake. He shook so hard he fell off the ledge. He fell directly on to a sharp rock that impaled his stomach. He cried out in pain and horror. He tried to get up but he fell on his knees then face-planted. He lay there sobbing some more. Then he heard hissing noises and then a loud voice said " Perseus Jackson! Wow so good to see you. I don't even have to go to the human world to kill you."
Percy rolled over to see the person he'd been dreading. For before him stood Kelli and her goons. He looked at her and said, " Look Kelli I don't want any trouble and I..." Percy stopped talking because his vision was dimming . He heard laughs and giggles but he was to tired to talk. He wanted to close his eyes and sleep. Even though he knew if he slept he would never wake up again.
Then some thing flashed before him launching him one thousand, two thousand, three thousand, four thousand, five thousand, six thousand, seven thousand feet. He was launched in to a tree where he say what looked like demons. He thought he was hallucinating until the demons got closer. He saw he was not hallucinating but that didn't make him feel any better. Because he knew he would have to fight them.
