Characters from the games and creepypastas in this book do not belong to me. This story will probably not have anything warning worthy other than profanity and swears, but if there is something I will include a disclaimer.
comments = me happy = I'm motivated to write
(Name) has a bit of an accent, so:
-ing is in'
and is an'
"you" has a bit more of a "yuh" sound (but I'm not writing this one in)

Friday - 3:30 PM.
The bell had rung and school was out for the day. (Name) tossed his/her backpack over his/her right shoulder, put on his/her earbuds, and began to walk home while jamming out to his/her favorite music.
Keeping his/her head low and watching around for shady figures and whatever else may be lurking in the alleyways on the way to the subway, (name) was hyper-aware of his/her surroundings. Each car that went by was noted. Every pedestrian was thoroughly avoided.
This continued until (name) got to the subway. Descending the stairs and going through the terminal, (name) patiently waited in the station for the the next subway train to arrive.
While waiting, he/she noticed a homeless man begging for money. Nothing out of the normal for here, but it wasn't just the homeless man that caught (name)'s attention. It was the abandoned video game cartridge on the bench around 15 feet behind the man.
Walking over out of curiosity, (name) picked up the cartridge and examined it. The name of the game had been scratched out, but it looked to be some type of Pokémon game for a GameBoy. (Name) shoved the game into his/her jacket pocket. The homeless man was staring at him/her.
"You saw nothin', so stop lookin' at me," (name) handed the man a dollar as a bribe of sorts.
"Yeah. Nothin'," the homeless man replied as he snatched the dollar bill into his grimy hands and smiled with his half-rotted teeth.
A few minutes later, the subway train arrived and (name) got on, watching his/her back to make sure no one was following him/her.
During the ride home, (name) remained standing, holding one arm on a metal pole for balance and the other over his/her pocket so that pickpockets can't take his/her new treasure.
After 20 minutes, (name) got off at his/her stop. Looking over his/her shoulder again to make sure they weren't being followed, (name) left the subway station and began to walk through the musty streets of the poor side of the city.
Avoiding the trash and the drug dealers, (name) got to a decrepit apartment building and entered. He/she climbed the stained staircase until the fourth floor, turned the hallway, and used a key to open up the door to apartment room 403.
It seemed that (name)'s parents were not home yet, meaning dinner would likely be 7:00 at the earliest. Noting this, (name) went to his/her room and took his/her computer out his/her backpack. After setting down the computer and plugging it in, (name) rummaged through his/her closet until he/she found a dusty adapter cable.
He/she plugged in one end to the computer and the other end to the cartridge he/she found. Not caring if the computer got a virus, (name)'s curiosity had beaten his/her rationality. He/she opened the computer up and looked at the laptop's files. The GameBoy cartridge wasn't appearing.
He/she unplugged the cartridge, blew on it, and tried again. This time it showed up in the files. It had no name and just showed the folder icon, but (name) just assumed that was because the data was still transferring.
Not knowing how long the data transfer would take, (name) rummaged through his/her backpack for his/her homework and began to work on the stuff that could be worked on without the computer.
(Name) sat at his/her desk for a few minutes, scribbling the answers on his/her study guide. After doing the first half of the worksheet though, (name) took out his/her phone and began to binge watch videos to pass the time.
Awhile later, he/she heard a yell from the other room. Not knowing that his/her parents had gotten home a bit ago and cooked dinner, (name) got up when his/her name was called and left his/her room to see what was happening.
When he/she got to the kitchen, (name) saw that dinner was ready and sat down at the table. Over the course of dinner, (name) completely forgot about the GameBoy cartridge.
After scarfing down his/her meal though and sitting in light conversation with his/her parents, (name) excused himself/herself from the table, washed his/her dishes and utensils, and returned to his/her room.
As (name) opened the door though, something felt off. Looking at the bed, (name) saw a figure sitting on the edge of it.
With no limbs, a light gray jacket, dark hair, a rustic baseball cap, and ghostly skin, the figure turned its head at (name) and its face contorted into one of alarm and slight fear. If its eye sockets weren't empty, the figure's eyes likely would've dilated.
Within a split second of seeing (name) and (name) seeing them, the figure disappeared without a trace and the computer made a small ding sound.
In a small box in the middle of the screen it said 'data transfer complete.'
(Name) read the words a few times just to make sure he/she read them correctly. Assuming the thing he/she saw was a hallucination or the product of his/her imagination going crazy, (name) decided it was time to sleep.
"Maybe I'm just sleep deprived, that's probably it. Possessed games are just fiction anyways. Even if they were real, the chances of me findin' one is nonexistent," (name) thought to himself/herself as he/she tried to reassure himself/herself that what he/she saw was fake and that he/she just needed some rest. Deep down though, (name) knew it was real.
