Chapter 11 - The End

At lunch on Friday, (name) opened up the computer to see if Gold would finally return. It had been a little over a week since (name) had talked to Gold.
"(Name), I'm going to head outside the study room for a bit, I'll be back eventually but I'm not sure when," Nick announced really loudly, as if to make sure that Gold would hear him.
A few moments later, Nick shut the door so that Gold would hear the lock slam itself shut. He was making it really obvious to Gold and (name) that the two of them would be alone together.
"Gold? Are you still there? Are you mad at me?" (Name) spoke aloud.
"I-I'm not mad at you. I-I just needed some time," Gold replied.
"Y-you responded. You responded!!!" (Name) was really happy. "I missed you, I thought you weren't going to talk to me ever again."
"(Name), I-I wouldn't do that. I'm s-sorry."
"No. I'm the one who's sorry, Gold. We had a miscommunication an' I hurt your feelings because of it."
"..."
"This time, I'll be the brave one.... C-can I tell you somethin', Gold?" (Name) stuttered slightly.
"S-sure."
"I like you too, Gold. As in like-like."
"Like-like? As in...."
"Mhm. So, uhh I like you romantically —god that feels weird to say— do you uhhhhhhhh like me too maybe?"
"(Name), I-I like you too... romantically," Gold made sure to be specific just like Nick had said.
"I'M SO SORRY FOR FRIEND-ZONING YOU! I DIDN'T REALIZE YOU MEANT IT THAT WAY WHEN YOU TOLD ME THAT LAST WEEK!!!!"
"A-and sorry for disappearing for a week without explanation!"
"Apology accepted."
"Ditto. I-I accept your apology too."
"So..."
"Uh..."
"Come here so I can hug you already," (name) told Gold.
Gold left the computer and went straight to hugging (name).
"I love you, (name)."
"I love you too, Gold."
Outside the study room, Nick was silently cheering but couldn't hold back anymore. He opened the door and quickly entered, shutting the door behind him.
"See Gold? What did I say?" Nick remarked. "And (name), now you can thank me."
"Just shut up and let them have their moment," Glitchy left Nick's GameBoy entirely and punched Nick in the stomach before disappearing back into the GameBoy.
"Wanna skip the rest of the school day an' hang out?" (Name) asked Gold.
"Of course."
