Why keep me awake?
Alone in the night
Scorching my body
And slapping my head
Thinking I'm slapping my mind
To arrest my heart from running towards you
And to stop myself from thinking about youIn the centre of the night
When all animals go deaf and blind
And plants rest from hitting by sun rays
That's my time to keep my eyes open
Thrown at the ceiling
Yet inside my mind you ran
Casting me on walls of attraction
Bouncing back to your heart and soulAwake in the night
Alone in my bed
Chasing you in a dream
A dream whose reality may not come
Or may arrive tomorrowI will stay awake
Just for you
Staring at you in my own mind
Bending grief and finding solace
Deriving hope of acceptance
From the history of the chain of words
You once wired on my screen
