Chapter 6

Alex's POV

The journey home didn't take long, me and Nora didn't need rest due to our nuclear cores. Doll was passed out on Nora's back, having spent her energy using the strange ability she now had. Nora gently set Doll down in her bed to recharge and locked the bulkhead. I began tinkering with some stuff when Nora came into the workshop "What are you doing?" she asked, as I set the thing down. "I'm going to install weapons into our arms, I'm mainly going to give us ranged capabilities" I said showing her the device. "That would be helpful," she said while nodding. I went back to working on it as she left the room. A couple hours later I finished, quickly running some tests on it. I quickly copied it and built another set to give to Nora, Doll didn't need any if we could hone her abilities

1 and a half years later......Alex's pov

The storm had picked up, Doll was sitting at the table with Nora as they talked about a surprise that she and I had planned for Dolls birthday. Doll was absentmindedly duplicating a random can on the ground. After we found out about the drawbacks of Doll's abilities I gave her a nuclear frozen core to prevent her from overheating. For some reason instead of heat being produced by the small nuclear reactor, it produced cold. Recently the murder drones had found our hideout, we figured that out after they nearly blew the door off. "Doll, remember how you said you wished you weren't short?" Nora said with a mischievous grin. Doll nodded, remembering that conversation vividly, being short sucked when most things were human height."I wondered if you wanted to be a bit taller, it won't take too long" I said walking over to the table. Doll visibly brightened and nodded her head; we went into the workshop to begin. It didn't take too long, I gave Doll the legs of one of the disassembly drones, we acquired them during a raid in which I cut the pilot DD in half, took his legs just in case. When Doll woke back up she inspected her new legs and proceeded to kick one of the walls as hard as she could, putting a dent into the concrete. I let out an exasperated sigh "Why'd you do that?" she looked at me, grinned and shrugged. "Anyways. When moving base to the city ove, I've struck a deal with the squad there; they said we could stay freely at their city if we help them take down the groups of savage toasters" I stated, Nora and Doll nodded.

Setting foot outside felt like a mistake, the blizzard outside was still raging. Even though it was dangerous it would give good cover against the dd squad in our city. The trek to the neighboring city didn't take too long, I informed the others that we would have to communicate with our monitors, you never know who could be listening. Alpha squad was waiting at the rendezvous point where we agreed to meet, [For the record, you guys cant eat us because we don't produce oil.] Nora flashed at the three disheveled MDs. The leader, A, rolled his eyes before saying [A deals a deal, we will provide the base of operations and you will use your abilities to help us launch an attack on the ACWD] A said, me,Nora, and Doll nodded. A gave us the coordinates to the base and the squad flew off, we teleported closely behind. The base was well fortified, unlike the structurally unstable spire the MDs in our previous city built. There were high concrete walls with auto turrets on them, a watch tower in the middle and the only way in or out was up. We just teleported in, a DD was waiting for us, SD-H I think, showed us to our quarters. I began to load shells into my shotgun arm while Nora loaded SMG rounds into hers. Doll strapped her knives to her belt and nodded to us. SD-H led us to the battle room where the two other DDs were waiting.[So here's the plan] A began, looking at all of us. [You three] he a=said pointing a clawed finger at my group [Will infiltrate the confederate base while me and my squad will attack with a frontal assault as a distraction, there are at least 90 troops in there and one dreadnought] He turned to Doll [That's where you come in, I need you to use your weird robo voodoo on that thing and destroy it, it's by far the biggest threat] He then turned to me and Nora [You two will take out their commander and officers, once leadership is down it'll make things a lot more easy] He finally looked at everyone [We attack at dusk]
